I'm glad it's missing ya! Thanks for the pictures. I saw some pictures of the flooding in Galveston and other areas. Scary...the waves were crashing up there on the sea wall, and they said at the time of the picture, Ike was still 200 miles out. Sheesh!! I don't think I could ever live in Galveston after what happened there in 1900 or whenever. 6000 people died. I watched a show on the History Channel about that once. Very sad.
By the way, I think you and your family should move up here to Springfield. That way you don't have to worry about those pesky hurricanes. You'd love the snow!! Come on up!

Well, we are huge Simpson's fans. But I do not love the snow. It's nice to visit it every once in a while, but no. No snow. I feel so bad for Galveston! We're watching the news non stop. Scary mother nature.

Wicked pix Ebeegeebee!!!
Glad you're okay.
It has been rainy/cold here for the last couple of days and isn't supposed to clear up until Monday. We got our pool all packed away and I'm slipping into depression mode. I soooo hate fall and winter!!! After the storm is gone, I'm comin' to live with YOU!

Larry King just said "Corpus Christi". That makes me uneasy. He's talking to the captain of the Sheriff's department. A 19 yr old was swept out by a wave and has not been found. His friend is in critical condition. His head was knocked against rocks several times. I can't imagine what else is to come. Especially for those affected most.

It sounds pretty bad for Galveston and Houston too. It seems lotsa people didn't evacuate and now are in need of serious help. I'm scared to hear how many died.

I know what you mean Amy. In Columbus we are being hard hit too. I was trying to walk into work and it was wearing me out. There are so many power outages all over Columbus that when you call AEP they have a recorded message that there are to many outages for you to be able to speak directly to a human. I am at work and we have lost power here as well. We are currently on Generator in the Computer Room. Since we have computer systems that need to stay up and running 24/7 we have a system called UPS (uninterrupted Power Supply) so our systems are up in running and we have minimal light in our area but the rest of the building has no power at all. Then BF just called and told me that the neighbor's tree next to his mother's home (4 houses down from our home) fell on his mothers roof and power lines and it had sparked and left a black burn mark on his mom's roof. So I think we are lucky that it didn' catch fire. Hang in there Amy. Hope the damage to your home is minimal. BTW just got a message from BF "We just lost power" Great...

Sounds horrible. Something funny is going on here. All of Stirling is having phone line trouble. Your line will go dead. And then its there again. You can receive any phone calls. Just half a ring and nothing else. We called Bell and they are sending a technician out. We tried telling them that others in Stirling are having the same problem. Duh they don't listen though. Its nice though because I get a break from that backstabbing drama queen calling me. I am just glad my INTERNET isn't gone.
I hope that you all stay safe. I will be thinking of you all.

BF says that our metal shed is not on top of my son's car in our backyard. It is really bad here. Our news says that there is over 50,000 people without electric in Franklin County. My Son was supposed towork tonight and isn't going in until they call him cuz they have no electric as well. News: UPDATE Local news says that 225,000 AEP customers are without power right now. I am sitting in a chair at work and the floor is shaking under me. It is the weirdest feeling. I am even on the 3rd floor Here is a pic of my son's car and where the shed used to be. His car is badly damaged with the dents in the passenger side. It didn't have the dents on the side before the shed landed on it. BF put the bent up shed behind the garage now and tied it down.
