I'm fine. The skies are still clear. Right now, we're not supposed to get the worst of it. But lots of rain and wind. My brother and sister are supposed to stay at my house during the storm. Family reunion. They both live right on the water. All of the gas stations are packed. The toilet tissue isle is empty. Plenty of water. They stocked up very well on water. It seems that everyone who can, is leaving town. They've opened up the roads, so that there is only one way traffic. Yesterday was a lot scarier than today. We're not taking a direct hit. So everyone is relaxing a little. The storm is so big, that wherever it hits, A LOT of places will be affected. I'm sure we'll get flooded. That sucks. Bad. I'll keep you all updated, as long as I have internet access.

I just got a message on the Interlibrary Loans Listserv that I belong to here at work, and it said that the Corpus Christi Public Library will be closed today and tomorrow due to Ike. Made me think of you, Little E.

Made me think of you, Little E. I thought "e" was in Corpus Christi. "e" if you have a cell phone if you have to stay or evacuate is there anyway you could let a forum member know by phone that you and your family are ok and then they can post here so we all will be releaved cuz I know we will be worried about you. Stay Safe

Me too, Boodie. I was just at weather.com checking out the map, then figuring out exactly where Corpus Christi is (geography is not my strong suit.) The map I saw on there said you have a low chance of flooding. I hope that's all it is. That's bad, but not deadly. I hope everyone stays safe, but especailly you and your family.
One of my former student workers lives in The Woodlands, which is a suburb of Houston. I'm worried about him too. He's from Russia...not used to hurricanes, I'm sure.

Nothin'. Everyone is relaxed now. Even a meteorologist said he's not going to put boards on his windows. I just worry for Galveston and Houston. This hurricane is SO big.

I took a few pic to share. Here, it's around 4:30. Clear skies, boarded windows, and skateboarders. Now, here's the view from my mom's balcony. She lives right on the water, but not this close! (7:30pm) Crazy kids! Here's me driving home: Driving down Ocean Drive. Here's some park. Lots of people are there, more than usual. Boarded up, with no wind to blow.
