I pre-ordered a copy, but mine won't come in until Friday (2nd shipment or something.) I'll let you know. It looks pretty cool. I like the opportunity to track my progress (or actually, lack thereof, probably.)

I pre-ordered this too. I'm a fitness buff, so I'm pretty excited for it. I picked up the free promotional DVD that they had in TRU and I watched it. It said that there was yoga, strength training and balance games. I also saw that you can track your BMI and fitness progress over time. It looks pretty cool.

We were suprised to find that our copy of Wii Fit was in today. They said they got all their shipment at once after all. Anyway, I didn't have much time before karate class tonight, but I did get the Balance Board thing synchronized with the Wii, and got started. I already had a Mii created, so I just used that one. It asked for my height and age. Then it weighed me and calculated my BMI. Blech...I knew it was bad. I'm borderline overweight/obese. Anyway, then it had me do a balance test. Well, I have terrible balance. I get dizzy easily too. So anyway, after the preliminary info and initial test, my Fit Age is ...... 60!!! That's right, I'm a 36-yr-old trapped in a 60-yr-old body! No wonder I feel like crap all the time!! LOL
Anyway, I tried one balance exercise after that...you have to try to dodge soccer balls that are coming at your head. I totally sucked at that. I'm having trouble figuring out how to move and lean on the balance board thingy. Hopefully I'll get better. Anyway, I sucked at that exercise. That's all I had time for. I just got home from grocery shopping after karate, and my legs and feet are killing me. I feel....60! So no more tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Should be interesting.

I tried mine today too! I did the fitness test and I came out to be age 29 (but I'm only 19!) I'm also in pretty good shape too, I run at least 3 times a week and strength train on my own, so I think you have to be like "Bionic-woman/man" to actually get your age! haha!
I think my BMI turned out to be 17 point something, so I guess that was good. It said I was normal.
My center of gravity wasn't too horrible either ( I leaned more toward my left, which makes sense because I'm a soccer player and my right foot is my dominant foot so when I kick all my weight is supported by my left. I guess all those years of playing skewed my center of gravity!)
The first exercise I tried was step in the aerobics section. That was pretty fun. The basic step is slow to get you used to following along and then I unlocked advanced which is a bit faster and adds two new moves. It really was pretty cool.
Then I tried the hula hoop activity. That was pretty neat too! You have to sway your hips like you have a hula hoop around them and while you are doing that you have to lean your body to catch more hula hoops that are being thrown at you. I worked up a sweat with this one!
Then I did the short run. You basically jog in place. You have a park scenario in front of you and you basically choose the distance that you want to run. Its like running on a treadmill--without the treadmill!
To wind down I tried some of the Yoga. I did the breathing exercises and the half moon stretch. It also helped me to work on my center of gravity and posture.
My first run on the Wii fit proved to be really entertaining! I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this game!! I definitely recommend it to anyone who was on the fence about getting it, it is definitely worth it!!

We do not currently own a Wii but if I can save up the money I would like to buy one (Hard to save up when your kids collect LPS, Ponyville, MLP, Webkinz and Cars) Yeah like when is there ever money to buy something for myself!! Seeing the Fit just made me want one more. Do all the different things (Yoga, Aerobics, stepping, etc.) all come with it or is that different discs to be used with it? Does anyone know of any games that are easy enough for an almost 5 year old to play??
Thanks,
Allison

The Wii Balance board is also included. The Wii is a pretty diverse game system. From what I've read it appeals to everyone from "Baby Boomers" to Toddlers. I know that there is a Happy Feet Game for the Wii, and the LPS Game for the Wii is coming out soon, I also babysit two little boys (ages 5 and 4) and they love playing the lego star wars game. So there are definitely games targeted toward little kids. I hope I helped! If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!

Last night I had a little more time to play around with Wii Fit. My body age was still 60. I'm still not great at the balance tests.
I played all the balance exercises that I've unlocked so far. They were pretty fun, even if I'm not great at them. I like the one where you move around and try to get the balls to fall in the holes. Tilt table or something like that?
And I tried the aerobic ones too. I love the hula hoop one. Richard laughed at me...he said you need to look at yourself...you aren't realy hula-hooping...you're going side-to-side. And when I focused on really going in circles, I did better. I also did the running in place one. It kept telling me I was not keeping a steady pace. I couldn't tell how to keep a steadier pace (you put the Wii mote in your pocket for that one.)
I'm not going to have enough room in the living room to do many of the yoga and strength exercises. I only did the deep breathing and trunk twists.
I think hula-hooping, soccer heading, table tilt and aerobic stepping will be my favorites. Although I got really confused when I started having to go to the side on the step aerobics. Too much for my brain.

I just played some more on the Wii fit.
I started with Aerobics. First I did the Advanced step. I like advanced step much more than basic step. There is a new side step that is added and it goes at a faster pace. I also tried the "free" step or freeform step. I found that to be really redundant. You just have to reach a goal of 800 steps doing the same step movements over and over for 10 minutes. So I think I'll stick to the Basic and Advanced step.
Then I went to strength training. I did Torso Twists, the Jackknife, the Lunges and two different leg extensions. I really like the lunges, but I was a little shaky on the leg extensions where you have to balance on one leg. I was more steady on my left (Because of soccer! lol) The other day I tried the pushup exercise. That was a tough one. I have minimal upper body strength compared to my lower body strength and that was a rough exercise. I was really sweating.
I also tried a couple balance games. I did the soccer heading game, that was really neat, it took me a couple tried to get the hang of it though! And I did the one where you have to move your body back and forth until you get the ball in the hole. That was pretty fun too, I actually found that one to be easier than the soccer heading game.
Well, those were all my Wii fit endeavors for this evening! haha! I think I'm going to try more of the yoga poses tomorrow, that should be interesting!

Tonight my Fit Age dropped from 60 to 33!!! That's 3 years younger than I actually am. I don't think I got that much better in one day, but I'll take it. I must be getting better at the balance tests, because my weight sure hasn't changed.
I did most of the same exercises that I did last night. I did a little better on most of them. So I can see improvement.
I enjoy the skiing ones, even though I really stink at the slalom one.
And I still have trouble with the soccer heading one. I think it's a problem with depth perception with me. I don't see to get as far over as I need to sometimes. I feel like I'm going to hit it, but then it misses.
I'm really enjoying this game. I just wish we had more room so that I could do more of the strength exercises.
I too stink at push-ups. And I've been doing them for 7 months at karate class. I've only gotten slightly better in that time. I still have problems doing 10 guy push-ups in a row. And I don't think I'll ever be able to do them on my knuckes like everyone else does.
Starchaser, has your Fit Age stayed the same?

I did another body test this morning and my Wii fit age went down to 24. So it went down by 5. Only 5 more years to go before I get to my actual age! lol!
A decrease from 60 to 33 is great though!! Especially since 33 is less than your actual age! Great job!!
I also found that if I do strength training on the Wii fit after I run ( not on the wii fit, but outside) I can feel the effects of the strength training that much more than if I just began w/out doing any previous exercise.
I also tried the tight-rope walking and boxing this morning. I really like the boxing, it kind of reminds me of Karate. The tight rope walking was pretty fun too, you have to lift your legs up and down to simulate walking in place as you cross the rope. You also have to regulate your balance as you easily sway from side to side. I had to keep straightening myself!

Today my aunt's came over to visit me and I introduced them to the Wii fit.
My one aunt, Theresa, She is my Mom's twin, loves fitness just as much as I do. I created a fitness profile for her. (I already had a Mii made for her. I made them for all of my friend's and family one day when I was very bored!) She did the body test and her Wii fit age ended up Being 55. (She's 45 in real life). Her BMI came out to be 20.27, but the balance tests are where she struck out! It was funny watching her trying to get the hang of it. I was trying to coach her through all the movements. I think she really enjoyed it.
Then I created a profile for my other aunt, Jill. She is younger than my Mom and Theresa. When she did the body test her Wii fit age came out to be 46 ( She just turned 40 in April.) So I found it Ironic that she actually did better than my aunt who is the Fitness buff! Her BMI came out to be 22 and the Wii Fit gave us a Tip saying that those w/ a BMI of 22 are less likely to get sick. She was happy about that! She also did pretty well on the balance tests. After that she proceeded to try the Hula Hoop and Basic step exercises.
I also played the Wii fit some more today. I really enjoy it, especially as a supplement to running.
Now that I have 2 of my family members registered, I only have to get my mom and sister to try! That should be fun! lol!

My age went back up a bit...I forget exactly what I was. I think yesterday I was in my 40s. It just goes up and down for me. And my weight does too. I drop 2 lbs. then go back up 2 lbs. then drop 1 lb. then back up 1 lb. So my graph is up and down, up and down.
I unlocked a new balance game, and I'm obsessed with it. I forget exactly what it's called...."Bubble something." You are in a bubble (looks like Nintendo's Monkey Ball) and you're rolling down a river. And you have to move to the left and right to avoid hitting the sides of the river. I still haven't made it all the way down the river. I've tried it at least 30 times trying to make it. I get so aggravated, because sometimes bees fly over and pop your bubble!!! What?!! That's so not fair. I'm having a hard enough time avoiding the walls, and I get hit by a bee. Grr..But I really enjoy that one. The other favorite one of mine is still the Table Tilt. I cleared all 8 levels finally over the weekend.
I also really like the slalom ski one (although it irritates me because I don't do very well.) And the ski jump is still enjoyable.
I tried a couple yoga poses that don't take much room. I haven't done any strength ones though. I just don't have the space.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the game and I'm so glad I bought it. I hope to invite our niece over soon to play, because I think she'd really enjoy it.
