I also like to watch the running. Those are two spots I like to do, biking and running! I also enjoy basketball.

I loved watching the Parade of Nations during the opening ceremony. I love to see what outfits each country's athletes wear. Although there were some pretty ugly ones! I wasn't impressed with what the US athletes wore. I guess Ralph Lauren designed them. They were just white pants with a very dark blue blazer. But the blue was so dark it looked black. And they wore those silly golf hats that old men wear. Ick!
And I didn't watch much of the other parts of the ceremony. I always think what a waste of money all that is. Just have the parade of nations and some fireworks. But it was cool, I guess. I'm just too practical.
But the fireworks were cool. I can't believe the torchbearer had to hang on that wire all the way around the stadium. That was way up there!!
I've watched some volleyball, swimming, badmitton, sabre, handball, soccer, and beach volleyball. We have 4 different channels that are showing stuff now and then, so I kept flipping back and forth.
I really like the gymnastics and diving And some volleyball. I like to see some of the Field events (not necessarily the running, but shot put, javelin, etc.) And table tennis. Some of the weightlifting. It's all pretty cool.

OH my Gosh I just watched the U.S. 400 M relay swim team win the gold medal. I was jumping up and down screaming as the final swimmer came down the stretch. He came from behind to win it and it was so awesome. The France team gave the U.S. team something to prove tonight because one of their swimmers said "they were going to smash the American's" NOT.. ;D

He came from behind to win it and it was so awesome. The France team gave the U.S. team something to prove tonight because one of their swimmers said "they were going to smash the American's" NOT.. ;D That was a very exciting finish! My husband doesn't get into sports at all, but he was even excited about that one. Very impressive. Let's see, so far I've watched a lot of swimming, some synchronized diving (very cool), gymnastics (my fave), indoor volleyball (I can't watch the beach volleyball very long for some reason), handball (for the first time), water polo (not too interesting for me), soccer (boring), fencing, badmitton, cycling (boring), women's weightlifting, boxing...and I think that's it so far. Come to find out, one of the synchronized divers (Kelci Bryant) was born right here in Springfield and grew up right down the road in Chatham. I heard that on the coverage yesterday, and I was shocked. I hadn't heard that locally, but I guess when I don't watch the news or read the papers I wouldn't have heard. And there's an archer that was from the same town as where Haley and my in-laws live. Small world.
