So I'm staring at the LPS wall at Target trying to figure out the main difference between the $4.99 ones and the $6.99 ones. The more expensive ones are labeled as portable, but in the same box and pretty much come with he same amount of items/pets. Is it just a gimmick to make more money or am I not noticing something?

I haven't been able to figure this out either, and I keep meaning to scan a portable and a pairs and see if they come up different.

Portable pets have only 1 pet per package and come with a larger accessory than a pet pair package, which comes with 2 pets and a small accessory. They used to be $4.49 for either Perhaps they value cost of a portable pet's accessory more then a pet? Or maybe it is just a gradual price change and pet pairs will increase in price as well in the near future.

Hmmm, I bet that's true, and that the ones I saw had gotten mixed up by the stock person or browsing customers. Next time I will definitely scan them to see if they come up as different prices.
Thanks.
