Well the last of our babies will be going today. Yay!. 1 we were going to keep (Alvin R.I.P) Simon (Lost in the House for 3 months), Theodore (Going today) Girl hamster Sold 5 months ago.
OK his name was Theodore but his name was changed to Lucky a _ _ b _ _ _ _ _ _! No offense meant to anyone that was his name. About two weeks before "the incident" he got out of his cage. We looked for hours and days nothing. So one day my girls hear this noise in the laundry room and they see the hamster. They got him cornered under the washer. We tried to scoop at him with nets but he kept going somewhere. I had a load of laundry in the wash so I took it out so we could lift the washer. We had it all blocked off so he couldn't have gotten out. We lifted the washer and to our shock he wasn't there. I even dared to put my head underneath. The whole time afraid that it would fall down on my head. I couldn't see him anywhere. I started another load of laundry to drive him out. No such luck.
Well I forgot to put the load in the dryer after all of the excitement that night so the next morning I had to rewash the load because it gets a funny smell if you leave it in there too long. I was searching in the laundry in the washer for the downy ball. I usually start the washer and then when it is halfway full I look for it. Something ran across my hand. I screamed. I then pulled all of the laundry out one piece at a time. There scurrying around in the bottom of the washer was the missing hamster. I thought immediately what a lucky a _ _ b _ _ _ _ _ _! So that is how he got his name. LOL. Two days later he got out but fell in a box I had set aside for shipping. I heard scratching and decided to see what it was. I considered changing his name to Houdini but I think L.A.B works better. I almost consider changing his name to dead L.A.B because he had chewed holes in half of our clothes...
So that is L.A.B story. He is off to another home today so they can enjoy his escape routine. Maybe I should give them the lock I put on his cage...
