Yay! My girls go back in 2 weeks as well. They are going to a new school. We have a three school system here. Primary (K1 - Gr 1) Junior (Gr 2 - Gr 5) and Senior (Gr 6 - Gr 8) They are excited and nervous at the same time. All their friends will be there but no in the same class.

After 2 years of homeschooling my 2 went back to school this week. It has a been a bumpy start. At least they are in a small private school. The public school system here is TERRIBLE! Everyone complains about it.

Enjoy your personal freedom We start on September 2nd. I will miss getting up late in the morning though I'm right there with you! I stay up really late in the Summer and sleep in to 10 or 11am I'm a night owl, not a morning person... that's the one thing I don't like about School starting again... having to get up at 6 30am... Mine start Sept. 2nd.

We started homeschooling yesterday. GOD! It's so time consuming, but I expected that. The girls love it! And so do I. It took about 6 hours to get everything covered. I'm hoping to edit that down to 5 hours. It's tough, but no one ever said it wouldn't be.

Nana's oldest started school yesterday. She had a hard day to start off. They moved last March and she was able to finish out the year in the same school because she was in the same school district. Wednesday was the start in her new school. My daughter has been working with the new school's guidance counselor and had taken her to the school before school started which I think helped somewhat. When mommy woke her up for school she started to cry. She was just very anxious. She had already met her teacher the day before so that was a plus. There is a little girl that takes gymnastics with her and lives in her neighborhood that they moved to so they ride the bus together, got the same teacher and are sitting together in the classroom. The guidance counselor checked are her all day yesterday and she did well. I just now also talked to my DD and she said that Kenzie got up this morning and was smiling and ready to go to school today. I'm so glad cuz it breaks my heart for her to be upset.

I'm sure you'll do wonderfully, and you'll be your girls' favorite teacher ever!!

My nephew starts Kindergarten next week. Him and his parents and my mom went to meet his teacher last night. My mom was so excited to see his classroom that she said she took 19 pictures. She said she went a little overboard, but the teacher had it fixed up real cute. Zach seems like he's looking forward to it. He'll be riding the bus for the first time. And Kindergarten is now an all day thing. When I was in school, it was only a half a day. I can't imagine what a teacher does with a bunch of 5-yr-olds all day! Poor thing! Plus Zach is going to have a lot of trouble being quiet for that long. He talks non-stop. And poor Daniel is going to be so lost without his big brother around. It will be an adjustment for both of them.
I'm so glad that Mackenzie seemed eager to go to school the 2nd day, Kim. That's a great sign.
