I really hope that everything works out for the best. So sorry that your husband has been suffering for so long. At the very least, he's got a very wonderful and supportive shoulder to lean on

Oh God, I'm always behind... Carol I wish that you and your husband can find some positive doctor that can really help to solve this problem so both of you can be happy again. I care so much about you that definetively you and Richard will be in my prayers. God bless you! Don't worry about being behind, Gabi. It's hard for me to keep up here myself lately with work and all. Thanks so much for your thoughts and kind wishes. I really do appreciate them.

THanks so much, guys. You all mean so much to me. We made our periodic trip to the VA clinic an hour and a half away today so that Richard could see the psychiatrist and psychologist. He sees them about every 3 months. IT doesn't really help, but that's how he gets his meds. It's a little road trip for us though, and he's usually more talkative on those trips than any other time. It's a good time for us to hang out.
The psychiatrist said he wasn't surprised the neurosurgeon didn't want to do anything to his brain. He said he can't imagine any neurosurgeon would.
He did mention the "pacemaker" type device they implant in some people with severe depression. It's somehow supposed to give your brain jolts to help. But I don't see how that could help if 8 electroshock treatments didn't help. But I'm going to start reading more about that now. I just feel like I have to keep researching...I can't just stop looking or hoping. The thought of nothing ever helping is too painful.
