I agree "YOU GO GIRL" I have no desire to exercise let alone job around the block. LOL Lol, you and I belong to the same club! I bought an exercise bike the other day - I suppose I'll put it together today and then I better start using it! Re: the ipod thing - you can just put it in your pocket and if you don't have a pocket you can also get a little pouch (like a little make-up bag or a digital camera bag) that has a clip on it and clip that to your pants/shirt. The other thing to watch out for with the ipod if you are carrying it is that the sweat from your hands will go into your ipod and overtime that will wreck it - so don't put it in your bra either or shove it somewhere else between your clothes because the sweat will get in it. Some people say you should listen to music because the tiem seems to go faster while your working out but others say that you shouldn't because you actualluy burn less or something - it depends which 'experts' you listen too. I think it's ok. Don't forget to do stretches! Naughty naughty, you'll hurt yourself and that'll be no good. Thanks mouse for the advice. It never accurd to me about the sweat thing. I have been holding it or putting it in the waist band of my pants. I do have a case for it, but It doesn't protect the screen or the wheel. I think I will eventually get a nice wrist band for it.

I have an exercise bike, treadmill, weight bench, ablounger set up in the basement but all that see's no action At ALL LOL ;D My BF keeps telling me that we need to get rid of it all since we don't use it. My response " No I will be exercising when I RETIRE". I don't even believe this myself. Key word is "RETIRED" LOL

I think as long as you are doing some kind of exercise activity you will be alright I don't blame you I don't like the heat much these days and to have to jog in it I wouldn't be able to handle that! Do you have access to one of those mini trampolines? If you did maybe on rainy days you could use that to jog on. Just an idea

Just an idea I have a mini trampoline, but I used it out doors and it is very dirty now. I can't bring it in. It's still icky and rainy here, so I'll just do some sit ups.

Hey mouse. I have a jump rope, are they the same thing as skipping ropes? I know your from Australia, and I'm not sure what they call them there. If they are the same thing, I love them! There fun and great exercise. I know what you mean about the exercise videos, I probably burn off more calories laughing at them then actually doing the exercises.

Hey Kathryn,
Congrats on improving your time. I ran track and cross country in high school. My friend and I decided one day when we were sophomores that we were going to join the track team. The first day, I could not even make it to the end of the school parking lot, which was less than a mile. That summer I ran a lot on my own and got considerably better. word of advice- do strength training exercises to build up your quad muscles. These muscles help to stabilize your knee. I ended up having some knee issues and the physical therapist told me I needed to focus on building up strength in those muscles. Also, make sure you have good running shoes. Now, I have been running for 15 years, off an on. I could never make myself even jog when I was pregnant. I am no athlete. I run about three miles four times a week right now. Keep going. I love it when I hear about someone else starting to run and enjoying it. Keep us updated. Just reading your posts makes me feel like going out for a run.

Thanks for the encouraging words Danielle! ;D
This mornings jog didn't go great. The shoes I wore fit weird and hurt my toe, and I got a time of 4 min. 20 sec. That's 10 worse then I did last time.

I agree, don't be hard on yourself. Instead say, "I got a time of 4 min. 20 sec.!!!! That's just 10 seconds away from my all time-best time ever!" That's how you need to say it! Be proud of yourself! You're doing wonderful!

Thanks. I didn't run yesterday or today. I don't run on weekends and yesterday I was sick from a McDonald's Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee. Every time I drink them I'm in the bathroom for an hour.
