so i got my NIB 1993 gerbils last night and i'm thinking... ha! yes! now i have all the gerbils... but i open it (because i can't leave a box unopened)... and get everything out of the new plastic packaging and set it up to play and realize... holy shit! there are two grey gerbils and two brown gerbils... i wonder if i still need a variation one (according to zuse's website) and then i look back at the 1992 set and realize i still need the variations of THOSE gerbils (2 of them, anyway)... oh my... there are so many variations...
and the cutesy kittens... i'm so confused about the platforms... so far i have a yellow and a pink platform with an aqua and a purple home, respectively... yet there's still an aqua platform and a blue platform out-there.... oh boy!
is everybody trying to collect the complete variation sets? i just collect certain pieces... like, for cutesy kittens i don't want four kittens, i just want 2 kittens and 2 bases... or for the ducklings, for instance... i have one complete family and then the variation ducklings...
all right... that's my rant. hahaha.

the bustling gerbils is a variation?! hahahah. dangit! yeah, i like to collect variations as well. it depends for me though. for the charming kittens, i'd collect both sets. for the husky sets, i think i'm planning to keep one base with the variation accessories (sleds and food dish) and debating on whether i should keep all dogs (2 sets) just 'cause they're so darn cute.
so basically, i guess it depends on how much "variation" there is. if it's a whole base or bunch of pieces, i'll collect both sets and vice versa. =]

i couldnt decide on some... i kept 2 variations for mommy and baby kittens, cutesy kittens, etc. but with the bobcats i just kept 2 sets and the 3 bobcats. i didnt keep the variation of the kitty condo squeaker but i did keep the variant bucket and ball for the tiger set, but not another set... i guess it depends, hehe.
