Help! I'm SO creative-challenged and need some ideas. We have a Grand Prix car race every year at church. This is the same race the Boy Scouts have with their Pinewood Derby. Anyway, the kids and teachers decorate and race these little cars. They are about 7" long. This year is my first at decorating and I want to do a LPS car. I have to have it ready THIS Friday. I got my car cut out (you start with a block of wood). I am putting the doggy head as the driver. Wish I had a helmet but I don't. Also, my car is already 4.4oz and can't go over 5 oz. I am NOT an artist so I'm thinking about spray painting it the LPS blue color. Then I may cut out the little pictures that come in the packages. You know the foldouts with the newest pets on them. I could decoupage the pets all over the cars. What do you guys think? Anybody got any quick and easy ideas? I think the kids will flip when they see it an LPS car! Thanks in advance and I will take a picture and post it when I'm finished! Jen

How fun! You seem to know exactly what needs to be done. I think it'll work great. I can't wait to see more progress. Please take pics of the work in progress.

Cute!! You could grab some of the stickers at Walmart or Target, I think they are under $2, and have a lot of pets on there as well as the logo! Can't wait to see it done!

Yep. I love the idea. Sounds like you know what you're doing, though. I think decoupage is a great idea, along with the stickers. Sounds like a fun project.. can't wait to see it finished.

The stickers for us are, in Target, right by the cards section. On the endcaps. They have TONS. ;D

TRU has the LPS Activities On The Go Studio and the regular On The Go Fashion Studio on sale for about $2.50 a piece. They have stickers and stencils in there.

Sounds like an awesome idea, and it sounds like you've got it all under control. Make sure you take pictures so we can see the end results.

Thanks for everyone's advice and encouragement! It has rained here and been humid so today we primed the car and now I will have to spray paint the top coat tomorrow. I'm pushing it but I think it will be okay as the weather is suppose to cooperate the rest of the week. I didn't buy stickers or anything (I'm too cheap-LOL). I started cutting out the pictures from the foldouts. I thought the cartoon figures would look better but after comparing the two, I like the actual photos of the pets best. Also, I couldn't believe the little details I found in those foldouts. I just wish I had more foldouts now!! I found little blue ribbons w/ LPS on them, little labels that to me, look like rear-view mirrors. I can't wait to play with them. I will definitely take pictures but I may not get them posted till Sat.
