Anyone know if there is any way to restore the plastic hair on dazzling hair pets, ponies, etc?
They look so luxurious and silky in the pictures, but my dazzling hair pet's hair looks like a frizzy, tangly puff.
I figure there must be a way to do it, I was thinking of looking on synthetic wig sites or mlp or doll collectors sites or something...

you know, i was wondering that too. i actually leave it as is until i know i can find a way to fix it without messing it up. i was thinking of using this de-tangler that i have. it's specifically made for african americans. i haven't tried it yet, but if i do, i'll let you know how it works.

I have the little deer and the pink siamese kitty from the Magical Hideway pets set and I got their hair to look fantastic! I brushed it through and washed it with some conditioner. I then wrapped the wet hair around a straw and let it dry. The come out beautifully!

Hey, guys. I know this might be an old tip, but Misty suggested that rubbing alcohol take of pen markings. do a test first though, because you'll never know how it might react to an item. It worked on our pets and travelers tags. i like this tip because it helps me do a better clean up for an auction. =]

It also took off splatters of paint and and general dirt, I think LPS paints are oil-based so it shouldn't affect the pieces at all. I used it to take off the silly names kids wrote on all the tags and signs ::ugh::
I have a horribly beat-up country daddy cat I've been using as a guinea pig for my chemical experiments, muahaha. I'll let you all know if I find anything that takes off marker...

I figured out a way to fix the dazzling hair pets with frizzy, nasty hair back to almost normal... it involves wax paper, a hair straightening iron, anti-frizz serum, quick reflexes and patience. It only works on the straight-haired ones, and doesn't work on the tinsel. Disclaimer: I don't reccommend it though because if you mess up, you will melt the hair. I took some before and after pictures just for fun. Because I am really bored and LPS obsessed right now. I should be studying for an exam I have tomorrow ::Sigh:: If anyone is interested, I can post step-by-step instructions. =p

That looks great, Misty! =D when you said flat iron! i was wondering if it would melt the hair! so i'm guessing you'd have to run it through very quickly. =]

hehe yeah, I fold a piece of paper several times and very briefly run the flatiron across the paper barely a second or so... it will instantly melt the hair into a big blob if the metal plate comes in contact with the hair though. =p
