A sped is like a spaz. It's a hold-over from when I was in school. We called each other speds all the time. I guess it does sound pretty funny when I think about it. Maybe it's just a Pike County, IL thing! LOL! Glad I made you giggle!! Giggling is good. Are you laughing at my tight hip flexors!! LOL! Carol Yep - I'm laffin!! I've never heard of a "Sped". Although, now that I know what it means, I know some. ha ha ha Oh - the first comment I quoted just sounded funny. I don't know why. I guess I have a dirty, dirty mind. *blushes* Judy Carol - this is for you! Smoochies! Judy

Check out this picture. This is Grandmaster Yamamoto, founder of Yoshukai Karate, the style that I'm studying. I believe that was 750 lbs. of ice. I should be able to do this in a couple years--NOT! Mrs. V (Carol)

Mrs. V (Carol) Holy Poop! That's amazing! Don't think I'd try that one! lol! I'd like to see you do it though! Karate sounds like a lot of fun! Maybe I should try it........hummmm....... Oh yeah - Whenever I say the word "karate", I think of Spongebob Square Pants! I don't know if you've ever seen it, but there is an episode or 2 where he and Sandy the Squirrel fight at karate. Anyway - Spongebob is about as smart as me, so when he reads the word "karate", he says it like it looks... Cracks me up!! Judy

I love Spongebob! My nephews love him, so I would watch the show when I was babysitting. He cracks me up! But I haven't seen the karate ones. Those would be funny! That squirrel is crazy.
I'm going to borrow that graphic!

Boy, did I get a workout at karate class tonight! Sensei Bottrell (the hottie) was very aggravated with the kids in class, because they weren't paying attention and focusing like they should. So we all suffered. We had to work extra hard on the basics. And it was one of those deals where we all had to hold our position until ALL the kids got it right. So we were in our fighting stance for close to 3 straight minutes without moving once. My legs were starting to shake, because it's like a "lunge" position. And I hate lunges. And when we were doing push-ups, he wants us to hover one inch above the ground at the end of them. And we had to hold that until all the kids got it. Well, needless to say, I can't get down to one inch yet. I have to stay higher than that. But I was still shaking.
I now know the first 16 movements of the 27 movements kata. Yippee!!
The kid that started a bit before me had his new gi on today. Hopefully I'll get one soon.
After the kids left at 8:00, Sensei Bottrell paired us off. I was with this guy that smells like stale sweat (like he doesn't wash his gi often enough.) Anyway, we were working on self-defense techniques. So the guy would grab my wrists and I would break free, kick and punch (well, not actually make contact.) I know my wrists are going to be bruised tomorrow. I bruise easily. And sometimes when I was pulling my wrists away, I could feel them hurting. They are actually a little swollen and bruised already. I feel tough. ;o) It's actually the flesh about an inch below the wrists.
Anyway, Sensei Bottrell also demonstrated some stuff by grabbing and holding my arms. That was nice (I know, I'm terrible!) He is so darned hot though. It's hard to concentrate when he's talking to me and his face is real close to mine. Wowee! I'd better calm it down here for the kids' sakes. LOL! Anyway, it was nice.
Then cute little teddy bear Sensei Roberts was there too. They're just such a nice pair. You've got the cute and cuddly one, and the hard and hot one. If I'm giong to be sweating and working my butt off, then it's nice to have a little perk like that too.
Brandon (the trainer from the gym) called and left a message seeing how I was doing and wondering if I'd want to come back for a workout. When pigs fly! As my husband said out loud to the message, "She's going to have to do push-ups on her fists, and she still likes it more than working out with you!" LOL!

All I kept thinking was, at least it wasn't you that couldn't get it right and everybody had to do extra for you. That's NOW my biggest fear. I'll never join Karate. Really, I'm inspired and proud to be your friend! Bad A@@!

Really, I'm inspired and proud to be your friend! Bad A@@! Awww...thanks, e!! I'm so glad to hear from you. You make me blush, but I love ya! See, they would never make people redo things because of me, because they can see that I'm really trying and doing my dangdest to get it right. The problem with the kids was they were being dipsh#$s. That's what made Sensei Hottie so mad. They weren't concentrating and trying. I always try really hard. I would never try to convince someone to try karate, because it's so hard. And I am still so scared to go every night. I wouldn't have gone without my brother-in-law being there, I'm sure. So I sure wouldn't try to tell someone else that they should go. But I'm so glad that I forced myself. And that I keep forcing myself. Because it really is a LOT of fun. Even when I'm so sore and tired and sweaty that sweat it DRIPPING down my legs and falling on the floor. I kid you NOT!! A little girl stepped in it once, and she was all like, "EWWWW. Spit." I said, "No, it's just sweat." Probably didn't make her feel any better. Gross I know. Here I was making fun of my brother-in-law for leaving a puddle of sweat where he stood, and now I'm leaving drops. Sheesh! It better be little drops of fat dropping off!! Thanks so much for your support, my friend! Carol

It's hard to concentrate when all your thinking is..."man, he's so freakin' hot!" Makes you all squidgy! ha ha ha Judy Thanks, Ms. McBoodie!!! I'm glad to hear you're not sick of my silly stories. I know...I feel a little guilty about how I talk about Sensei Hottie with you guys. Richard wouldn't care though. He'd just say, "Go for it." Because he knows I would never do anything like that. He's never the jealous type. Me on the other hand...when he mentions how hot he thinks Winona Ryder is, I just want to puke and then smack him. ;D She's such a little stick figure. I think he just does it to annoy me, and it only happens about 2 times a year. He's so silly. And then last night, Sensei Hottie wasn't there, but Sensei Cutie was. And he did a lot of one-on-one with me with my kicks. He's just so darned cuddly and cute. It's something about the way they really seem to want to help me learn that makes me like them. They are both super nice and patient. (Thank goodness...because I was having a terrible time trying to get my roundhouse kick right.) I rubbed the skin off part of my big toe I turned on it so much. I can't wait till my feet are calloused like theirs and I can scoot around on that floor easier. Tomorrow night is the annual Yoshukai Karate Alliance weenie roast. I haven't been to a weenie roast in over 10 years. I used to love them as kids. We'd go to at least one or two each fall. I think I'll go. Hubby doesn't want to go. He's more anti-social than me. But I think I'll go. It'll be nice to hang out with them outside the dojo where I don't have to bow all the time. Carol
