A little while ago on eBay there was a set that was in Japanese packaging. Sadly, I didn't add the link to eBay and my computer where I saved the image crashed. Anyways, did anyone else see that one? I think it was one of the Chatter Pets (Chirpy Birds or Chirpy Tree). Does anyone know what the written characters are in Japanese for whatever Kenner Littlest Pet Shop was called in Japan? Thanks.

Wow! I can help with something! I don't feel like such a n00b anymore! *laughs* Littlest Pet Shop in Japanes is [ƒŠƒgƒ‹ƒyƒbƒgƒVƒ‡ƒbƒv], though when I tried googling that it didn't come up with very much. www.little-polish.com/MAP.html <- It seems they use the English words instead of Japanese (which makes sense, since other wise you're basically saying ritoru petto shoppu, heh) and it doesn't seem like it's very popular? I couldn't find anything about the G1 in Japan, though... Maybe it had a different name! If you ever find the box art again, I can *read* Japanese but it's very hard to figure out English words sometimes. I'll try googling the equivalent of "little pet" in Japanese, maybe...

Aah, seems like the Forum doesn't agree with Japanese font. ^^; Here's it in paint: pics.livejournal.com/little_ribbon/pic/001qrp4hThe first 3 characters are "ri-to-ru" which is the phonetic Japanese for "little". Try saying it out loud and you'll see what I mean. xD The Japanese pronounce the l/r nearly the same, but they cannot write "l" so they use "r" instead. They have a Japanese word for little "chiiisai" which I will try to google later, but mostly they borrow English words for brand names, etc. The next 3 characters are "pe-double-to" (petto) and the meaning of that should be obvious. xD Then the last ones are "sh-o-double-pu" xD shoppu! /bad explanation

Thanks! Now I just need to write that out so it is searchable on my site. Here's a picture of the box I refound on eBay. Unfortunately, that's as big/clear as it gets:

Ack, I'm really sorry but I cannot read what the yellow label says. =/ It's too blurry and the font is all bold in that graffiti-style so it makes it hard to tell which characters they are. The only thing I can read is the big white font between the two yellow spots, though not everything. It's about singing! *laughs* ^^; I still think they probably use the English name for it, though. But in Japanese font like on this site: keywords.jp/aa1028953964/cc1052167099.htmlIt says "LITTLEST PET SHOP SINGLE PET (IGUANA)" and then tomii dairekuto, which might make more sense to you than it does to me. ^^; Dairekuto is "direct", but tomii? I have no idea. xD

=/ That doesn't explain why I can't find very much info on it, or a Japanese Hasbro site, though... But some Japanese blogs have pictures of the English G2 LPS packages on them, so I'm not sure if they were imported or not. oumin.g-tokoharu.com/?eid=586570Actually! I found this blog which has a Japanese information leaflet thing on it, it seems? The post says something like: "Tomii dairekuto (Tommy Direct, maybe?) will sell the single pets of Littlest Pet Shop in February next year. The frog and the iguana are really cute, or what? For 315 Yen it's a very nice price and when I see it I may buy it. Laughs. How is everyone else?" I love reading Japanese blogs!! It's interesting that the post is made in December 2006 and so she means the iguana and frog are coming out this month there! O.o I thought the iguana was out for ages?

*Ashamed to admit she doesn't know much about Japanese*
I'm hoping to get some info about this line, though, so I can put something on my site that is searachable if someone looks in Japanese. Because pictures are universal. :-D

Haha, I don't know very much either! I've just been studying for 2 years. =/ A lot of the characters all look a bit alike and it's hard for me to guess which one is which. Especially when one syllable changes the meaning of a word! I've been googling every key/search word I can think of, but I cannot find anything. =/ Sorry!
