Hi!
First off I wanted to say I'm so glad that I've found this site! I was searching around trying to find a complete list of LPS and was ecstatic to find an LPS community
(thank you ilfiorelaluna for the continually updated new LPS list!)
Well, a little about myself. I started collecting the new LPS about three weeks ago when I started Christmas shopping for my (almost 3 year old daughter). My husband specifically told me that we are just going to buy her a 'little' of everything, not just all one set of toys (because I went a little obssessed last year getting all the Sweet Streets...and she was too young!). So, I agreed until I saw the new LPS's! I remember being just too old to get the original ones (remembers the original commercial as if it were yesterday {That's who!} and my own parents telling me I was too old for toys ). So, we got the bigger playsets and I thought I would be okay, if I just didn't look at them too much! A few days later we went to Costco and *wow* they had two five packs! I told my hubby "This is such a deal!!!", and then I went home and went to the Hasbro site and was totally hooked! They are SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!! We had given Elly a small set to hold on to while we were shopping at Target and she loves them! Usually when she wants something at a store, we let her hold it, and she eventually forgets about it and we can put it back on the shelf, but not the LPS's! She plays with them all the time now (we gave her a few sets for before Christmas!). Anyways, I thought I was done, until I found this site and then checked Ebay (fell off my chair from the prices they were charging!). I had already wrapped all of the LPS's and wasn't exactly sure on all of the ones we bought! So, here I am trying to carefully unwrap the presents, lol, so I can catalog them from the list on this site. ANYWAYS, I am totally addicted now. Lol, I have a lot of MLP's from when I was a kid, but there's just no way we can afford to get all the new ones *sigh* yet....I try to walk past them as best I can, there's just so many! If I buy 'one' now, it will be over. Let's see how long I can hold out. Sooooo....right now the only ones I'm searching for is the Black Scottie, the ferret (white faced), gray kitty (with carrier), Springer, and light Beagle. And of course the Birthday, Beach and three new sets (carriage, wagon, scooter). I'm waiting for the three sets to go on sale at Hasbro, so I can order those and the merry mice at the same time (if I don't find them here first). Oh, and the ever expensive (have to talk my husband into it) cream Walmart kitty.
Last week we went to Walmart really late and they had all of their stock in crates in the hallways, lol, we searched and found the LPS box! I was happy to get the Hermit Crab (even though he is getting more common now! ...I also saw him at Target on Friday!) But I was SO happy, just like a little kid (I'll grow up some day!...maybe!). Then we have 5 Targets within 15 minutes from where I live and I found the monkeys at one of them, I was SO happy!!! From all of your advice I got most of the singles at KB Toys and I have yet to get over to Family Dollar! I hope they have the springer! Also at Target I got the Target winter exclusives, but I had a REALLY hard time deciding whether to buy them because I knew I already had the pets in there....but I couldn't bring myself to leave them...can you believe me!?! Our two Sears here doesn't have a toy section anymore *weeps*.
Well, thats been my adventure thus far! Obssessed? Yes, completely. What's really bad is that my daughter (even after looking EVERYWHERE!!!) lost the hamster from the Black kitty, hamster ball set and she lost the kitten from the teetertotter set *sigh*!!! So far, those two are her favorites, so, alas, I went out and re-bought the teeter-totter set and have to re-find the hamster (he's still out of stock on Hasbro). That's okay though. My own mother kept all of my toys when I was a child (after she cleaned them, lol) and she was SO happy to make room in her garage when I got married and moved out. I would like to do that for my own children too someday. Have to have a complete collection, lol, I already had to re-attach a head to one of them! But, as long as she is having fun and happy; since they are her toys, lol, I will replace whatever.
Okay, this is turning out to be a long introduction, lol! Hmmm...I'm married and a mother of three. Christian (9), Eliora (Elly, almost 3), Aurora (4 months). I'm a SAHM, and I enjoy movies, anime, manga, pc/video games (right now I'm play The Sims 2), and pretty much spending time with my family . Well, that's all for now!
See you in the community!
