Ok, more pictures of my critters of the past... Me with another bottle-fed lamb (dig that stocking hat?) 4 of our past cats (Rusy, Barney, Butterscotch, and I can't think of the other's name right now. The yellowish one was so scroungy. Blech.) Barney tormenting Shotsie (the cats loved to sit on her doghouse just out of reach.) Shotsie the first Christmas she was with us (dig my groovy headband?) My brother and Shotsie (oh he would kill me if he knew I was publicizing this picture.) Shotsie and me in one of our sheep pastures (it's really dark, so you can't see her too well.) Ok, enough for now. Mrs. V (Carol)

LOL!! You crack me up!! ;D That's an awesome picture. Sweet pachyderm! I always wonder how the animals in circuses are treated. Hopefully this guy/gal is treated very well. Thanks for sharing!! Mrs. V (Carol) Thanks! This is Dixie. She doesn't work for any circus. She and eight other asian elelphants are owned by a couple here in California that do all the movie work where you see elephants. Like Even Almighty and Ace Ventura and that cool new credit card commercial. I think that just like there are good parents and then their are a few people who treat their children horribly, criminally even, there are good animal professionals and, sadly, a few who should have their animals taken away. These guys that own Dixie are among the good guys. I love elephants! Right now at the fair we are at, our living-quarters trailer is parked right next to the night quarters for the Dixie and Kitty. Every day, the trainers give them a bath and scrub them all over... they seem to love it. One day, my house cat got into their area and I stood at the fence saying "Kitty come here!" The next thing I knew, Kitty the elephant came lumbering over!!! They are so smart. Being around them is my dream come true!

Awww...Dixie!! I'm so glad to hear she's well taken care of by nice people. Thanks for sharing. I've never been very close to an elephant. Probably saw them at the St. Louis Zoo, but that was 30 years ago, and I don't remember. I need to make another trip down to St. Louis. The zoo is free, for heaven's sake. We'll have to wait until summer is over now though. The Mr. can't tolerate the heat, so he would be a puddle on the sidewalk. It's so stinking hot and HUMID here right now. Blech!
That is too cute that Kitty came when you called. What a sweetheart.
Thanks again. I really enjoyed reading about your elephant friends.

Me with another bottle-fed lamb ( dig that stocking hat?) I actually love the hat. This is my favorite pic of you. Your hair is so long. And no one can compete with that smile.

That's sweet!! I love how my hair looked back then. At the time I didn't even care...oh to have it back now!! I was always happy when I was with our sheep. I couldn't help but smile, especially when with one of our little cuties. Look how tiny this little one was! And his little knobby knees. So, so sweet to hear their little "baaa's." And it was wonderful to be able to watch them when they'd get a little bigger, and the weather would warm just a bit, and they'd be running around out in the pastures playing with each other. Kicking up their heels. They would even climb around on their moms if they were laying on the ground. Too adorable! I wish we'd had a video camera at the time. I still miss not having sheep around, and they've been gone for over 20 years. Sweet, sweet animals. Not the smartest, but definately some of the sweetest. Mrs. V (Carol)
When you post about your sheep, it sounds like your quoting a book. You have great descriptive writing skills.
Thanks much!! I always got good grades on my papers in school, and very nice comments from my teachers/professors. My favorite professor (who taught at least 4 of the classes I took) told me once in class, "You write such excellent papers...now if I could only get you to talk in class!" I hated talking in class. I am so shy, and public speaking is torture. And I didn't even want to answer questions out loud. I like to prepare before I answer, like in a paper. But he was BIG on class participation, so you had to talk to get a better grade. Yuck. And he made us do a speech, or teach the class once, or something like that every semester. I'm surprised I liked him so much! Anyway, thanks for the compliment!! It also helps that I love what I wrote about in this case...our sheep and lambs. Some of the best times in my life were with those sheep. Mrs. V (Carol)

Nerdy? Not at all!! You haven't seen nerdy until you've seen ME in my glasses. I hate them. The lenses are so thick, it's pathetic. I hate going out in public in them. My contacts are a permanent public fixture. Great picture! Thanks for sharing. Mrs. V (Carol) Okay here's one of me that I took today. Smiling is overrated. ;D My husband and brother never smile in pictures. If they did, they would look weird, because it's just not them. Interesting necklace...does it represent something special? Thanks for sharing the picture. You look great. Mrs. V (Carol)

e- lol yeah, I have twelve tattoos so far and I'm going back for more as soon as I decide what I want! XD Here are a few of my favorites - That one's on my left leg. I (partly) designed it myself, and it's my fave! It was brand new in the pic so it looks a little red in spots... Got it last year. This one's on my left arm, my second fave. It's from the anime Outlaw Star... XD! *nerd* Brand new in the pic; it doesn't look quite so much like a sticker now. ^^; Got it for my 20th birthday in March. And this one's on the back of my neck. It hurtt he worst out of all of them. XD I got it about four years ago when I was 16. And that seems to be all the pictures I have on photobucket... I'll have to take some of the rest of my tats. Well I think there are a few at my deviantart gallery... but I don't feel like digging them up right now. XP mrsvalden- which necklace? The collar, or the skull? The skull is actually from the anime Bleach (my current fave anime - maybe I should get a tattoo of something from there, eh? XD) And the collar... well I have a rather weird obsession with dogs/wolves/anything canine. I act like a dog more often than I act human (I growl at like everything that moves XP), so.. yeah. XD!
