I just got done putting the last touches on my christmas decorating! My mother-in-law laughed at me because this year I started the week before thanksgiving! (but with a little help she is done now too!) I was wondering if there are anyother diabetics out there? My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed in sept with diabetes 1 and I need some suggestions on makeing this christmas special for her (some splenda recipes maybe for cookies?) any suggestions?! MeRrY ChRiStMaS!

Diabetes runs on my dad's side of the family, but I don't know enough about it to help, sorry. But about the Christmas question...I did all of my decorating the day after Thanksgiving, and I absolutely CAN NOT wait !! This isn't my daughter's first christmas, but last year she was a little young to know what was going on. This year we wen't overboard on the gifts, but so did her grandparents!! She is going to have a wonderful christmas. I'm sure your daughter will too!! I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas !!

I can't wait for Christmas for some reason this year. Last year a dreaded it for some reason, lol. I put my MLP Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving cause I just couldn't wait to put it up. Now I just have to put up my 3 feet tree and my folks little tree and we'll be set around here.
As for the cooking for a diabetic stuff for Christmas, I would think you be able to the substatute the splenda for the suger and that would be all. I would think tho and sometimes it does pay for me to think, lol.

WOW !! You must have a very large house to accomodate all those trees ! I only have one 6ft tree. I've only been married for a couple of years, we don't have a lot of decorations yet, but we seem to aquire some each year. I'm not a big decorator anyways, the tree is enough for me. However, I'm still trying to get my husband to do some lights or something for the outside of the house. What does the outside of your house look like ? Do you do as much with the outside as you do on the inside ??

We're putting our tree up tomorrow. We usually get it done Thanksgiving weekend, but the past two years we've been doing it the first weekend of December, since we don't take it down til after New Years. I'm looking forward decorating my doll/pony room this week too! I even have an American Girl sized tree...the tree I had for my special ornaments when I was a kid!

not so much on the outside as every room in my house gets decorated from top to bottom! I love doing my girls room (and so do they!) I have a 7 foot blow up snowman and garland around front porch, large burgundy bows all around 2 4 foot wreaths (with bows) and a small lighted wreath on my door! thats it so far! every year I add more santa's bows ornaments and 1 special catch (which was my jinglebell tree (I got from target))! I love to decorate! It all started 7 years ago when I got my first tree from my new in laws (husband and I got married and had my first daughter!) How about you?

Our first tree was given to us by my parents. It was their first tree too. Then last year we bought ourselves a new tree. My husband and I are thinking about buying our daughter her own little tree that she can help decorate. She's not even 2 yet, so she's still into Elmo and Dora, stuff like that. I found a ton of cute ornaments at Target that I might go back and get for her. She absolutely loves our Christmas tree. Every morning she wakes up waves to the tree, says Hi to it, then gives it a "gentle" hug and kiss !!

How cute! mali will be 2 this weekend and she prefers to hide my ornaments! You'll go by one of my trees and notice a bald spot and have to search her room for them (she loves to hide them in her shoes!) Yesturday we made a gingerbread house and my daughter decided to eat the frosting instead of decorate it and last night decided the gumdrop gate was a snack! we thought it was so funny although my other daughter didn't! I can hardly wait we have made it a tradition each year (since my daughter was born exacually 14 days before christmas day) that we take the girls to meadow!! It's a huge little farm about 45 mins from here that goes all out with christmas lights! We ride the train around the rows and rows of lighted sculptures and vist the meadow candy shop to get a few little homemade goodies (sugar free this year!)! Anything you do that makes your hoilday? MeRrY cHrIsTmAs!!

That's awesome, 2 is such a fun age !! Mine doesn't turn 2 until February. I think we are going to do something similar to your tradition. We have something here called the festival of lights. You drive through a park decorated with tons of lights. Doesn't sound quite as fun as the meadow you are talking about, but there's not anything like that around here. One thing kind of special about our holidays is that we always get to do stuff twice. We had two Thanksgivings, and this year I think we are going to have 3 Christmas celebrations. One with just my daughter, husband and myself, one with my side of the family, and then one with my husband's side. Oh, and of course, can't forget the Santa tradition !! Tomorrow we are taking the little one to the mall to see Santa !! She did good last year, but I don't know if she is going to cooperate this year, we'll see !!

Wow! My daughter was terrified of santa (hoho)! Even my 7 year old still is a little reary of him! We too have 3 or 4 celebrations! One with christmas eve party with my husbands family, christmas day morning to ourselves then at noon it's off to my-in-laws to exchange gifts! And we travel the week before christmas to celebrate with my parents in statesville! It's so wonderful! She will love the lights!! I take my little one late at night when she can't sleep through, the neighborhood to look at all the lights (she always sqweels like a piglet)!oh and don't worry spoiledrotten your husband will come around in time!It took my husband 5 years to help and we have married for 7! Now he's the first one pulling out the trees at thanksgiving and wanting to "santa" shop everyweekend!

I wish my daughter would watch those kind of movies. The only movies she watches are Elmo's World movies. But I think Disney has a couple of movies coming out on DVD on the 13th, if I remember correctly one is Christmas related. (but don't hold me to that ! LOL) I had a long night last night, the little one got sick : (
