I just saw that there was an introduction place on this board, even though i kind of introduced myself in a few other posts. haha My name is Jennifer and i have a 3 year old daughter named Zoey, she just loves the LPS (of course i take the little pieces away) she has a great fascination with animals. She has been recently diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, and animals is one of her great fixations. So i am glad we found the LPS they are so cute and have great playsets that help her with pretend play and learning to use her imagination. I even like to join in and play. I am glad i stumbled across this board, i just moved up to this snowy land called south dakota and haven't met to many people, so it will be nice too find some people that share a common interest on here and talk with. I myself have been quit an avid collector for years of many things, from my little pony, care bears, to beanie babies. My daughter inherited quite a collection from my 80's childhood collection. well i guess that is a pretty good introduction

Welcome, officially! I'm glad to hear your daughter really enjoys the LPS. This is a good board to find out all kinds of things about them! I swear that my daughter's collection has tripled since joining the board and having the check-list to go off of!

Hi Jennifer, My name is Pamela. My 8yr old daughter and I collect LPS and lambs. Of course her favorite LPS is the lamb. My family buisness is making insulated doghouses, and our dog is Bander (yellow lab). Underdog Bessy belongs to the neighbors, my parents.

Welcome! Good to have you here! I'm fairly new still myself, and I know these wonderful kind people are always happy to have more on the forums! I bet LPS does help a lot with you daughter's Asperger's. I work with autistic kids, and I know sometimes relating to the things they like (such as animals) can be a great way to encourage some of the lacking social skills. At any rate, hope you enjoy it here! And again, welcome welcome!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, i am glad i have found this board also! and i must agree with everyone this sure has helped grow my daughters collection, she loves the bugs and....oh who am i kidding she loves them all, haha but what is up with the ladybug being so dang expensive on ebay...do they really think kids can afford to pay $30 or more, i hate to say it but sometimes us collectors make the price go up way too much for something that isn't worth that much. I ran into this same problem back in my beanie baby days. I paid alot for some of the rare ones now they aren't worth much, i can find them on ebay for a few dollars.

There is another lady bug that is supposed to be released soon, I think with a snail! But yes, I think I paid $35 for our Picnic Time set on eBay, but my daughter really does love the little Lady Bug. The last few days the bugs (especially the caterpillars) have been her favorites to play with.

Thats awesome if they release another ladybug especially with the snail, my daughter would go nuts over that. I keep hoping to run into the vip ladybug by the time her b-day roles around in june. so that would be even better if that is out by then too. $35 isn't bad for that picnic set, i see it going for well over $50 now ebay. so you got it for a good deal in my mind, but as long as it brings happiness to your daughter it was probably worth the price My daughter likes the caterpillars too, but i must say she really likes the spiders lately. They need more insects or reptiles, like a cute snake or alligator or maybe a cool grasshopper

I haven't seen it locally, but a friend on the board traded one with me, and my mom found one that I traded to another friend. It really is darling, I think that and the Butterfly are my favorite VIPs. If I find one, I will let you know! I am not sure when the ladybug/snail pair is going to be released, it was shown at the Toy-Fair. Yes! We really lucked out and got a great deal on the Picnic Time set... someone listed it poorly, and we scooped it up quickly. I was so relieved, after having seen the prices on some of them! And I'm with you, I would LOVE an alligator! -- And a cricket, my daughter loves the little on on Mulan!
