Hi. I'm from NC. I have enjoyed reading everything on this forum. It is SO helpful! I finally got brave enough to join when I found the octopus the other day early on. I just wanted to share the good news with everyone and give you all a heads up! I actually enjoy LPS' more than my kids!! They could care less, until I come home with something (recently the angora bunny) and they BEG me for it. Anyone else out there like that! I love miniatures in general especially dioramas. I have sold some customized LPS on eBay but I'm no artist by any means and have pretty much given that up. I do customs for a friend's daughter who loves them. In exchange she gives me mineral makeup that she makes herself & sells! I love selling hard to find items/collectibles on eBay. I'm a home-school mommy now and can use the money Anyway, everyone is so nice here and it's great to find all these collectors!

Welcome!! And thanks again for the heads up on the octopus! My daughter is dying for it (her favorite show is Oswald the octopus!) My daughter loves the pets -- she has certain ones she sees on the list, and wants, but I'm the one that's avid about collecting them all. I have made ONE custom, and I'm not sure if I'll do another, but I hope to find an extra octopus that I can make a "boy" Oswald one for my daughter. We'll see! Welcome again!

Hi, what city did you find the octopus? I live in Raleigh and haven't seen any of them yet. My daughter saw a picture of it and really wants one. Thanks for sharing!

Hi!! It's great to have you here. I actually collect for myself (no kids around here), so I totally know where you are coming from. These little pets are just too cute!! I'm looking forward to the octopus, ostrich and kangaroo...but my favorite will always be the lambs.

Lol I'm missing something here, what's a tarheel? I love miniatures too - mostly animals. You would probably like the G1 LPS if you like little things. I have quite a lot of little glass and clay animals that I get from markets and shops and where ever I can find them. Mostly mice, rabbits and dogs but basically anyhting I think is cute (and I think a lot of stuff is cute, therefore I have a lot of stuff!) The Tarheels are the University of North Carolina mascot. Here's the blurb from Wikipedia: "Tar Heel is a nickname applied to the state and inhabitants of North Carolina, as well as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's athletic teams (see North Carolina Tar Heels). The exact etymology of the nickname is unknown, but most experts believe its roots come from the fact that tar, pitch and turpentine created from the vast pine forests were one of North Carolina's most important exports early in the state's history."
