So basically then, the only "new" pet to this bunch is # 728 the Snail, since all the other ones have already been released, at least according to my list. The only difference I can see is they are "variants"?

It's kind of a fine line, but last time this happened (at Kohl's and BJ's Warehouse), I added them as new pets. Variants (in my opinion, which is nowhere near exhaustive) are only when Hasbro changes the entire production run. When you can only get a pet at a certain store in a certain pack, even if Hasbro's dumb enough to give it a matching number, I think it is a new pet.
