Music and a lit fireplace with lotsa decorations. BF thinks I go alot overboard with the decorations inside and outside the house but I love the spirit of christmas.

Christmas here is boring. They don't give gifts..they only go to church and get together and eat.Turkey or Pork. That's it. I am planning food at my house on Christmas Eve.My mother does Christmas Day.Since everyone one comes to visit from far..I try to do something so they can get together at my house,so i made a tradition everyone comes to my home Christmas Eve.

Hi,
I think playing secret santa could be fun. Since there are a lot of you and gifts are not normally given, it won't be too much trouble if you just have one gift to give. Decorating the tree together when everyone arrives while playing christmas songs and maybe watching some Christmas classics together could be nice.
The children could make gingerbread houses and cookies. Everyone could help with dinner or bring a dish or baked goods that travel well.

We have the same problem Dina. But I always get a tree, we decorate the house, use candles instead of normal lighting, and we buy each other small gifts to set some extra mood. (Although BF and I have been celebrating it the US way for a few years, with bigger gifts... LOL. Couldn't do that last year though.) Setting the mood for Christmas can indeed be difficult. To me, the best Christmas has snow outside... but we're often not that lucky. I like the idea of playing music too. I can't hear the same Christmas-songs over and over anymore, but my mom always sings them a lot around those days.
