I am just curious With rising prices, slumping economy, probably higher taxes on the way and tighter credit ~ Is anyone out there truly planning on collecting all the new upcoming pets?

Egad, I stopped long ago - I don't have funds for that sort of dedication .

I'm. Probably going to pre-order from now on, as long as the price is reasonable..

Once a completist always a completist!! We have pretty much every one up until now, and I see no reason to stop now.
A price increase every once in a while is to be expected and although I don't enjoy paying higher prices, I don't see anything particularly out of line with the current increases.
If prices continue to go up beyond reason, then I may change my mind, but at least for now I don't have any reason to believe that they will.

Well there is no way we can keep up with all of this. My husband is loosing work because they are loosing contracts due to higher fuel costs. He drives truck and usually it slows down right before christmas. But this is a sign of what is to come so all we can do is hope that things get better. The only source of income that we have now for LPS is my customs.
I very sadly admit that this is too much. I told my girls to be grateful for what we have now.
Thanks for being greedy Hasbro.

I'm with blondeone322. I just collect the ones I like. Happens to be a lot of them, but means I don't want them all.

I love them all but I only get ones I'll die for or need to complete a series (playground pals, cuddliest, walmart exclusives) My 314 are good enough for me. I have the second biggest LPS collection in my family and extended family(steps, cousins, etc). My cousin does have a complete collection. I have saved a lot for the older pets, and my oldest cousin (her sissy who does customs 4 me)bought a lot off ebay that consisted of about 60 pets. Some i had she was using for customs but I get to keep the rest. For all those who are completed, congrats! I'd love to see pics of a completed collection besides my cousin's. She never lets anyone touch them except her. I have only seen them once or twice. Last year at Christmas and this year for her 6th b-day party.I have just started collecting Dec. 15, 2007, when my oldest cous bought me/took me to get the Get Better Center. To our suprise, a lot was on clearance- including doggy diner and salon! I would love to have all of them, but I wouldn't get to display them all. Or play. I'd have to basicly have to just find my favs and that wouldn't be fair to my others! congrats to all who have them all! You deserve it! Lets hope Hasbro doesn't spill out a wave of really rare pets 1,611,111.33 each. Which, is not suprising. In 2 years, Hasbro made over 350 pets. This year, at the least 500! It is too hard to get them all for me. You see one pet one day come back tomarrow, its gone and stocked with newer pets. Cycle is everlasting! Ohh, don't get me started with prices and taxes. But walmart has reduced evrything LPS to original price for a sale. Let everyone get used to 4.97 being on sale.

And may I just say that being a completist would not be possible for me without this forum and all of you wonderful LPS collectors! A couple of questions for the completists--if you display all of your pets, how do you do it? Ours are displayed in 3 separate acrylic display cases which hang on the wall. (See fuzzy picture below). ;D And also, as a completist myself, I collect one of every single number. Do you display both pets with duplicate numbers? I am currently displaying both pets but I am running out of room, so I may have to remove the duplicates and store them.

I will continue to get the pets we like most. I have to stop ordering the entire cases...their so hard to resist ;D

I have to agree with the completists. My daughter and I have 732 right now with no repeats, we just don't have the ones that have not been released yet. So, if we stopped collecting them all now, to us it would be depressing since we have worked so hard for over 2 years in trying to get them all. We hope to be able to continue but if the day comes that we can't for whatever reason, it will be a sad day in our house. P.S. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of the wonderful people on this forum who help give us information as to what pets are out there, because without all of you there is NO WAY that we could ever have a complete collection.

Nana's Girls will always have a complete collection. I will also continue to preorder everything I can as gas prices are ridiculous so I would rather pay for shipping costs. A big hug and thanks go to the wonderful members here for making it possible to get to the preorders.

Unfortunately, we don't currently have a way to display our pets, but if we did we would probably try to display all of them. We collect 1 of every single number, which is why it's so annoying when Hasbro releases the same pets with different numbers, or different pets with the same number.

Of course. (: I try to, I mean, we're missing a few here and there, but whenever I can, I get the ones we don't have. ;D
