The Walmart in my neighborhood is sometimes crowded but it is fairly new (3 years) and always clean. They haven't raised their prices yet and they've been getting the newer pets quicker than Target.
I prefer Target but they never have the newer pets and have raised the prices...plus they're in the same shopping center as Walmart. As long as one of them has the toys I'm looking for, I'm okay.

I haven't ever had a problem with the Walmarts in my area. They are both pretty clean.
And Mommy & Me you are so right that Target takes forever in getting the newer pets.

Almost forgot the most important reason why I will continue to shop at Target: "Since 1946, Target has contributed 5 percent of its federally taxable income to the communities in which it does business through grants, special programs and team member volunteerism. Today, Target gives back more than $3 million each week to communities nationwide."

All large corporations give back to their communities. They have to. For one thing it's a tax deduction, and it makes for good PR. In 2007, Wal Mart gave back more than $5 a week on average to it's communities. Check out their Charitable Contributions FactSheet: www.walmartfacts.com/FactSheets/Charitable_Giving.pdf

Walmart can afford to be charitable considering they rip off a lot of companies. My DH drives truck and delivers to walmart sometimes. He talks to them and several of the employees have told him walmarts underhanded tricks. They will cancel an order after it has been removed from cargo and on its way. When it gets there they say they canceled it and don't want it. Well the companies that ship to them will not take it back because of the cost of returning it. So they just drop it at walmart. They do this with a lot of stuff. My DH has seen the stacks of stuff that is unclaimed. Thats not a kind of company that I would really like to support. We have no choice unfortunately to shop at walmart for some LPS. With only 3 stores that have them its tough finding them.

It don't doesn't stop anyone from getting the WalMart exclusives. Even buying them off Ebay, Walmart still makes the profit. I may not think the wages are fair but then again I really can't afford to pay more for products than I do now either.

Ya know, our Target is a terrible store. I don't go there because of lack of good stuff like food and lps. I really only shop when there is holiday tubes or a SuperTarget. Then, there is good stuff!

One LPS is almaost as much as gas! Which is absolutely terrible! Hasbro and walmart are the only good places to shop without going over a simple budget!

Yes, it seems that almost every store and company has suddenly gone into complete Greed mode.
