I think some people might find that comment offensive. "Tramp Stamp!" I've never heard of that before. I guess I know a lot of tramps then. every chick I know with a lower back tattoo calls it that

"Tramp Stamp!" I've never heard of that before. I guess I know a lot of tramps then. That's what my brother-in-law calls them so I'd heard that. I just don't like to see anyone's pants down that low, whether they have a tatoo or not. Crack is bad. I see way too much crack at the library when kids are sitting at the computers. Their darn pants are soooo low. Crack here, crack there. Cover that crack up!! I get sick of the cracks and all the thongs hanging out geesh that makes me gag

I've developed a new fear of you, Mouse. You'd surely win a piercing contest. I had my belly button pierced 3 days before my 18th birthday (you have to be 18 to get poked, here.) It wasn't very painful, just incredibly uncomfortable. Afterwards, he (the piercer, Gentle Ben), told me to stand up and look at it in the mirror. I did. I freaked out. I turned pale and said I was going to pass out. He picked me up and put me back onto the piercing bed. I never actually passed out, but I came close. Just the thought of what I had just done, freaked me out. Then, months later, after it being infected, I stopped wearing jewelry in it, so it would heal. It healed, but the hole was very small! I decided to re-pierce it. That one hurt bad! First they put a small needle through, which didn't hurt, because that's how big the hole was. But then they pushed a thicker one over that little one. Oh your god! It hurt so bad! I puked in their bathroom toilet afterwards. At least I made it to the toilet. Since then, I took it out after I hit 15 lbs overweight. Last time I checked, months ago, the jewelry still went in, but was very uncomfortable. My other bad piercing experience has to do with my ears. Nothing fancy, just the regular ear pierce. I got mine pierced when I was 13. My dad wouldn't allow it any earlier. His permission to get them done, was, seriously, my 13th birthday present from him. Cheap-o. Anyway, same scenario, they got infected, I took them out, they healed and grew back. My cousin tried to re-pierce them for me. Only one got done. It was like torture. I turned pale, started sweating bullets, and almost blacked out. It was horrible. Nowadays, I have closed up ear holes, and a very, very thin belly piercing. So, you win.

Kim you can get rid of some parts of a tattoo home style by rubbing off your skin with sand paper (all the layers that ink is on). I think you'd have to be pretty hardcore to do that though. and then you have to not scratch it and be careful with it while it's scabbing so you don't end up with a really bad scar. Lasering is expensive and I think that hurts too. You could get it tattooed over with a heart or something? My sister wants to get her tattoo (of a snake) gone over with something else and my brother-in-law got his tattoo (of a naked lady) tattoooed over (and around and what not - the lady was on his arm and he got it tattooed over with a dragon that goes down his arm and around his neck). I removed a "spot" or "blemish"(I don't know if it's the correct name) in my face, near my ear with laser and it turns out great! Hurts a little but it's something that you can take it (support it). I even tried it today, in another use: depilation.

This is probably a no-no because I've getting off track of the subject of this post but...Carol do you work at a library? I worked at one for years and the things you see at the public library!!!!

Yes, I work at a university library (University of Illinois at Springfield.) I know what you mean about public libraries...it seems like you get even weirder people. But we get all these teenage girls flashing their cracks at us. And internet porn watchers, unstable and frightening people shouting obscenities at us...all sorts of odd behavior and people. A library is not somewhere I'd want to send my children just to hang out by themselves, let's just put it that way. Except in a small town probably. My small town public library was awesome.

Okay Carol. We should start a thread just on working in the library system! We could keep everyone entertained with stories. Like the time I had a man who came in and wanted to know if I had a book on how to poison people discreetly! EWWWW!

I have 2 tattoos - one is a 60's mushroom on my lower ankle. No, this does not mean I do drugs (seems everyone always assumes that). I also have the fairy of pure joy on my shoulder. I had my bellybutton pierced and tongue pierced before I had kids. My goal is to be able to sport abs like I used to have by the time my husband gets back from deployment next year and get it re-pierced. I have 3 piercings in my left ear (including my cartilidge) and 2 in the right.

Cooooool! You did it! You did it! Very well done, tattoos, and it means even more, because they were done by a long time friend. They didn't hurt?!?!?! Geez, you're tough. I watched that Ink show the other day, and people were just casually talking during their tattoos. It hurt me more, just to watch, than it probably did them. Anyway, they look super cool. Are you ever going to get any more?
