Well, they called this morning and said we could take him home for the night!!! The vet said that he is OBVIOUSLY home-sick because he won't poop, pee, eat or drink unless we were there. What a turd! They have both legs all bandaged up because he won't quit licking. Yesterday, it was so cute! They had a little t-shirt on him. They put it on upside-down with his tail sticking through the neck hole, his back legs through the arm holes and the bottom was taped around his mid-section. Toooooo cute!!! They did this because they felt sorry for him in his cone and wanted to take it off. In order to do that, they had to cover him all up so he wouldn't lick. Worked like a charm!! Anyway - he's verrrrry excited to be home!! So much so that we've already had to put his cone back on and put him in his kennel. He was running around and rolling and rubbing on everything! It was like he was saying, "hello couch! hello chair! hello carpet! I thought I'd never see ya again!!!!" I put a floor pillow (really soft and squishy) in his kennel and wrapped it in an old blankie. I had to take his food and water out so he didn't spill it with his cone. (He'll only eat when I feed him by hand anyway. Little fart!!) I have to have him back at 7:00 AM tomorrow for a well-check, etc. They still may need to stitch up a few wounds when they are sure he is infection free. Okay - I'm pooped! I tell y'all...I feel like I've been put through a wringer! I can only imagine what Rascal's been through. Poor little sweetie!!! Anyway - here he is with his cone in his new kennel AT HOME AT LAST!! (For a little while anyway!) Check out the cute graphics added to his pix from some friends of mine... Aren't they adorable?!!! Rascal thanks you for all your love and support! (I do too!) Smoochies and dog licks to you all!!!

That would've been so adorable to see him in that T-shirt. What nice folks. Enjoy him, and I hope he gets to come home to stay soon. Hugs and love!! Carol-san

Hi guys! Rascal is doing soooo much better since he's been able to come home! They still have his back legs bandaged up and he has to wear that stupid cone though. He has to go back in for new bandages on Saturday, but after that, I don't think he has to go back unless his wounds aren't healing. He still has one on his tummy that's pretty gross. He hasn't needed any stitches so far, but may on that one. He is very happy to be home. He hasn't barked in so long that when he does, he coughs! He wants to run around and play and bark, etc., but we have to keep him settled down. We just put him in the kennel at night. He doesn't like that very much. I do believe he has been traumatized by all this though. When we take him outside, he stares at the traffic going by and shudders. He's very timid when he's outside too. Yesterday, he wanted to stay outside though for a while and soak up some sunshine. He just quietly laid on the deck watching the cars go by. Can't wait 'til he's all better so we can take off that stupid cone. He hates it! He's always bumping into things. Thanks everybody for your concern! Rascal and I love ya for it!

Aww Judy I wish I could give You and Rascal a big hug. I really am so glad that he was found. Isn't he a Sheltie? My mom used to have a Sheltie and he was so pretty. Little Lassie's. I have been thinking about you guys so much. Dog's really have my heart. (gee is that why I have 4 of them) (and my ex has our boxer). I totally understand what you are saying about Rascal looking toward the street and shuttering. Our boxer isn't doing well and he falls now (effects from having a bad seizure he has had trouble walking). So my ex said that he can hardly get him to go outside and he thinks it is because his legs went out from under him and he fell really hard. So he thinks it really scared him and now doesn't like to go outside. So it may be time for him to go to doggie heaven Was Rascal sunning himself on the deck while Mommy was in the Pool

I love the new pix in your siggy!! I bet you about squeeze their guts out when ya hug 'em, don't cha? Rascal is doing sooo much better. I take him in in the morning again to get his bandages changed and for a check up. They still haven't told us a final price. I'm sure when he's all better, they'll shock us with that! Jeff always said that if the vet ever cost more than $500, the animal would get "the shot". It's funny, cuz after all this, I know he'd never do that! hee hee So sorry to hear about your pooch! Breaks my heart! As long as it's not suffering, I'd wait a while. (I'm still feeding my dog BY HAND for God sakes! I swear, I'd carry him out to poop if I had to. Pathetic the things we do for our pups!! We LOVE 'em!! Rascal spent a lot of time outside with me today. He was out while I was cleaning the pool and running and barking and stuff. He really loves the sunshine! I can't PUSH him out if it's raining! Anyway - hope all goes okay with your poochie. I know it is such a HARD decision! Love and hugs!!

Thanks for the nice compliments on my siggy. I sure do hug and squeeze them. I get to see them this week to go shopping for Mackenzie's first day of school outfit. She is starting school in a week and she is really really sad. They have moved and she goes to a new school. My DD said she was really really crying yesterday wanting to go back to her old school. I know she will make new friends but it is so hard for me to know she is upset like that. The other pics are of them on there boat. Mommy and Daddy just bought a boat this summer (they only live 1 min from a boat ramp) of a major lake and we went out boating with them a couple weeks ago. My girls love the water and the boat. Of course they grew up on it with our boat so they have been boating since they were really young. I'm sorry Boodie to be rambling in Rascal's thread How did it go changing his bandages today? Did they have to sedate him at all. I imagine he is pretty skidish when it comes to touching those area's poor baby. Give him a big hug from me.

I'm so glad to hear that Rascal is improving, Judy. And to hear he's running around and barking...that's wonderful!! Hopefully he'll recover from the trauma. At least he probabaly won't run into traffic anymore, little scamp!
I hope he's improving even more today.
