Hi, I don't really want to know $$, but are you okay with the bills coming in for Rascal or is the vet helping you out? We haven't even talked money yet. I was too scared to ask. I'm guessing at the least, it will be about $300. I gotta get busy makin' some more customs! We didn't anticipate something like this at all, and like a lot of other people I know, don't have money stashed aside for such things. If there's a will, there's a way and things always seem to work themselves out, ya know? I do have a new set that I will be listing in the next couple of days. It needs a little tweeking, but shouldn't take much longer. All money made from my next several customs will have to go straight to the vet and that's fine with me. Smoochies!!

I teared up just reading that, Judy. I'm so glad that things worked out just right to bring him home to you. It's so nice to think that there are caring people out there that wouldn't just pass by a dog in need. Bless her heart!!
I'm sure Rascal is so happy inside just knowing that he'll be home again soon.
Hugs all around!!!

What a wonderful biker lady! While others just passed by without a thought, she actually DID something. I love her! I know you do, too. You should make her a custom of Rascal! This really is a beautiful ending to a horrible beginning. Yea to Rascal! And yea to good Samaritan bikers!!!

Got to see Rascal again this afternoon!!! He won't eat unless we are there. He seems to be doing better and we got to take him outside for a little bit. He's walking on just 3 legs and you'd think he'd been doing it all his life! His ouchies look pretty gross still and they want to keep him through the weekend. Jeff and I are going to go see him again tonight. Jeff hasn't gotten to see him yet. He doesn't seem to mind his kennel too much. I think he's enjoying the rest! There are so many barking dogs in there! I couldn't sleep a wink in that situation. Rascal has never been a barker. He does bark when the kids are fighting though. He doesn't like them to fight. When Jeff was wresting with the kids once, he bit him in the butt! He thought he was hurting the kids! lol!! Very protective of his kids for sure!! Such a good doggie and I'm so glad to have him back in our lives!!! Smoochies!!

Judy I can't wait till you family can bring him home. I'm so happy for you guys. I love dogs (obviously we have 4 of them). They definately steal your heart and are like your own children. Give Rascal a big hug for me and I hope he gets to come home soon. I loved the picture of him by your computer desk.

Glad you got to see Rascal yesterday. It's good he is walking, even if it's only with 3 legs. I will pray that he has a speedy recovery.

Hi Judy,
I was working thru my PTSD book...not to blow anything out of proportion....you had mentioned the kids may have seen Rascal get hit. Kids are so resilient which is a protection in itself.
Have you noticed any changes in the kids that just might be a result of the images that flash thru their minds? If not, GREAT!
If in the future, you notice more nightmares than usual, anxiety or a fear that wasn't there before but seems very BIG to them, it might be worth talking about what they saw.
My dd and I have done some work with a centre here and one way to get beyond the images is to draw a picture of the same time frame but change the images to a positive ~ Rascal missing, ducking, & jumping to miss the chaos or if they created an image of Rascal scared and alone at night, to then change the drawing to Rascal cuddling up on his bed or pillow in the sun or on the porch.
Hopefully, because there is such an amazing outcome with Rascal, there won't be any bad memories ~ just a the blissful reunion.
Take care.

It was actually my 17 year old son that saw him get hit. Rascal is "technically" his dog. He picked him from the litter because he was the runt. Anyway - my other son is 14 and Jaz is 10. They all seem to be doing very well considering. I think I was the one that took it the hardest! Thank so much for your concern!! The outpouring of love and support we have received is unbelieveable! You all are so special to us!! No more makin' me get teary-eyed guys!!! Smoochies!!!

I will try not to make you teary but I'm crying for joy on this end! I'm so happy for you and your family and Rascal!! What a wonderful story. What this world needs is more stories with HAPPY ENDINGS like yours! When he gets home can you send us a picture? He's just beautiful. I love my Beetle so much (yes, that's where my name came from). He ran off one time but we caught him. It was so scary. Give Rascal a kiss from all of us!

He ran off one time but we caught him. It was so scary. Give Rascal a kiss from all of us! Thanks so much for your sweet comments! You're right though! This WAS a VERY HAPPY ENDING!! We went to see him today and he still won't eat unless we feed him by hand!! He's really milkin' it! He looks so pathetic though! He has one of the cones on his head so he doesn't lick his owies and he just hangs his head all the time. We took him outside today and at first he was holding his leg up, but started to use it a little. We had to go to Wal-Mart and buy him a bigger kennel today. The one we have is too small to fit him AND his cone! We're soooo hoping to get to bring him home tomorrow, but tomorrow is when they will be cleaning up his wounds and stitching some of them, so I won't be surprised if they want to keep him another day. I'm going to request that they groom him because he looks nothing like the pix I have been posting! He looks sickly and his hair is matted on his tail. He has a couple of ticks too that make me sick!! They treated him with tick stuff, but a few are still hanging on. Gross!! Rascal has never had fleas or ticks in his entire 8 years! I promise to post pix when we get him home and he looks better. We had him in to be groomed about a month ago and he weighed 15 lbs and he now only weighs 12. 3 lbs is A LOT for such a tiny dog! Anyway - I'm past the point of tears now. All I feel is anticipation!!! The lady that found him, wants us to bring him over when he's all better, and I'm sure I'll cry then. I still can't believe what an angel she truly is!!!! Thank God for her!

Poor little cone-headed Rascal. I bet he's a sight. But a happy sight!! Why aren't they picking the ticks off of him if they are big enough to see? Yuck. It will be so nice to have him home, I'm sure. Hope it's soon!
