Wow, the monkey island is too cute! Did you make the base out of clay...the whole thing? That is truly amazing. You guys are so creative with these bases. Are there magnets in the leaves?

Thanks so much....I had ALOT of fun making the base! Wow, the monkey island is too cute! Did you make the base out of clay...the whole thing? That is truly amazing. You guys are so creative with these bases. Are there magnets in the leaves? Thanks! The small magnets I had were not strong enough to go through the thick plastic leaves, but the monkey sits up there pretty good! The very bottom of the base is polymer clay, the kind you do then cook. Same with the vines. I impressioned the monkeys and tree in them and a few spots for bananas and leaves then cooked it, then painted and then glued everything one. The bananas, coconuts and leaves are apoxy scuplt. The bananas were the only pain....took like 50 coats of yellow paint! But all in all I am very happy and so is my nephew!!  |
