Hi everyone.
I have been occasionally reading some posts over the past years and decided that I should introduce myself.
My name is Joan "Tookmo" (Bunnies names combined ~ Tookie & Gizmo) from Beautiful Vancouver Island in BC Canada. My daughter and I initially had 2 mini-lops until one had a false pregnancy. We felt so bad for her we went out and got her 2 Lionhead babies and because of their diva looks, named them Mischa & Sascha.
I started with Ebay awhile ago when I was madly collecting LPS & Webkinz for my young daughter...now a tween. She stills loves them and especially since she has discovered how to decorate them all and she's gone to town with the paint...literally her entire LPS Town.
I'm not in it to make a profit. It was suggested to me from a TBI counsellor to find something of meaning to do everyday.
I'm in my 30's. I have Anklosing Spondylitis since age 26 initiated from my daughter's traumatic birth...heriditary. At age 32, I was struck head -on coming home from my Pharmacy position at Costco. As a result, the walking and breathing person survived, but the person everyone knew including myself had died.
It's a grief I can't explain; to wake up each morning and not know who you are ~ likes? dislikes? However, my daughter is the most amazing & wise young girl who loves me whole heartedly and not to hurt my feelings says, "I like you so much more today than ever before."
I knit prayer blankets for the ailing mentally, emotionally & physically. I seek out people after hearing or reading about their struggles, pressures & tragedies, and then spend 2 days creating a blanket and boxing it up in a suede box with a Prayer Blanket Letter & Verse. I titled it, "preciouslittlesouls" and have a first time website on Piczo under PLS.
I have loved all the customs and OOAK over the years. I never looked into them or read anything about them, but loved the creativity and energy the resonate. I now know how much heart & soul goes in each and every one of your creations...a blessed journey.
I have been reading the boards hoping nothing ever pertained to me with regards to my auction site and some first time creations from a very inexperienced person. That's probably the main reason for joining the board is that people know me and know that I'm not trying to profit from creativity, but trying to live each day to be the best that I can be with so much lost.
You all have made this journey enjoyable & fun. Email posts are scary when you have a TBI because tones & body language are missing, and although, I would never insult or belittle anyone, I don't know what the other person's interpretating and I've read a few posts gone amuck for awhile because of this in the past. So, please understand my apprehension.
