I finally rented The Karate Kid today, and we watched it tonight. Ahhh...good memories. It's been at least 15 years since I've seen that movie. I love Mr. Miyagi!! If I had to do it over again, I'd put Mr. Miyagi pictures on my wall instead of Ralph Macchio's.
I also rented "Juno" and "Gamers." I think we'll watch "GAmers" next. I'd never heard of it, but it looks pretty funny. I'll report back.

I saw Strange Wilderness last night. It had some very funny parts, but don't watch it with kids. Gross parts, gross, gross parts. Not the best Happy Madison Production.

I'd never heard of it, but it looks pretty funny. I'll report back. Somehow those 80's movies aren't as good as I remembered them. I haven't seen Karate Kid in a really long time. I can't even remember what it's about. I know there is some kid and this old guy and there's some karate in it or something. I'm not sure though. I might be confusing it with something else. My brain (and skin) is a little fried from being outside in the sun and wind today. We bought flowers and planted them and I'm one happy camper!! The day started out beautiful, and then the wind started to pick up and then it was like a wind storm with gusts that about knocked me over! Oh and I touched a spider. I passed out for a while and while I was out, I hope it didn't crawl on me and fart or anything! I hate those barkin' spiders! They are evil like that. I was uncurling the hose and one of the black "hoppy" spiders had a web/nest that I grabbed. I felt the squish and the movement and screamed bloody murder. Funny thing....no one heard me because it was too windy!!! (That's a good thing I guess) Fun day!!!

"Warriors, come out and play-ay." My husband has talked about this movie a lot. I saw a few minutes and thought it looked so weird.
"Gamers" wasn't as good as I was hoping. I laughed some, but not great like I hoped.
We'll watch Juno tomorrow.
Judy, you don't remember Cobra Kais?
"Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it? Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it? Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it?" "No, Sensei!"
"Wax on, Wax off." Daniel and his mom move from New Jersey to California and Daniel falls in love with a rich girl (Elizabeth Shue.) And Johnny is a total douchebag and beats up on Daniel-san all the time. And Mr. Miyagi is the handyman at the apartment complex and has all those cool Bonsei trees. "Bonsei!" And he gives Daniel-san that cool old car for his 16th birthday. And at the tournament, the Cobra Kai Sensei tells Johnny to sweep Daniel-san's leg. Good stuff!!! Silly teenage romance stuff too, but mostly good stuff. Actually better than I thought I would think it was now. .

Good summary, Carol. One thing that I noticed while watching it as an adult, is how much Daniel messed with Johnny. Remember the part where Johnny is in the bathroom stall, rolling "something", and Daniel puts a hose on him. Daniel started that one, he couldn't just leave well enough alone.

I tried to watch Good Luck Chuck last night, but I shut it off about 20 minutes into the movie. I also rented Something to Talk About w/ Dennis Quaid and Julia Roberts, so I'll try and watch that tonight.

Good Luck Chuck was a movie I could have lived without watching.

That's exactly what Richard was saying. He kept saying..."he brought that on himself." I said, "Well, they didn't have to practically kill him." But yes, he definitely had a chip on his shoulder. He just couldn't leave well enough alone. It was so queer at the end though, where Daniel wins, and Johnny grabs the trophy and gives it to Daniel himself, and he's practically crying and said something like "You really deserve this." Or something equally as queer. It made me laugh out loud!!! I've never seen the other 2 Karate Kids...are they any good at all? If Mr. Miyagi's in them, then I think they are worth a watch. I forgot how incredibly scrawny Ralph Macchio was. How did I have a crush on him? He was like a prepubescent girl, and he was actually 23 years old or something like that. FEAR DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS DOJO!!!!

We watched Juno today. It was an awesome movie!! I really loved it! So sweet and just enough funny. That actress that played Juno was hilarious. And I really loved her dad and step-mom too. They were good supporting characters. And I adore Jason Bateman and of course Michael Cena too. Really, really good movie.

Hahhahahha! Ya, he is pretty scrawny. But at the time, he was the talk of the town. Part 2 is awesome!!! They go to Mr Miyagi's home town. It's wonderful. Rent it, for sure. There are more quotes in that one that are still popular. (At least to me.) "Live or die, man?" "Die." "Wrong. Hoooonnnnnk!" You'll have to watch it. "To you.... I am dead." Good stuff.

Rented P.S. I Love You and Untraceable. Watching P.S I Love You so far it is really funny, and sad at the same time.

Over the weekend, I rented Karate Kid II. I don't think I ever watched that one, although some parts seemed vaguely familiar. The romantic parts made me want to puke...I'm too old for that crap now. But I liked the Mr. Miyagi parts. Daniel-san gets on my nerves actually.
I also watched "About a Boy" with Hugh Grant on some channel on TV. It's kinda old...2002 I think. But it was actually pretty good. Toni Collette was in it too.
This isn't a movie...but we watched the "I Love the 70s - Vol. 2" marathon on VH1 yesterday. 9 hours of I Love the 70s. What a hoot! I love those "I Love the..." shows on VH1. The I Love the 80s Part 1 is my absolute favorite.
