Wow. You're a beginner....FANTASTIC!! My only suggestion would be to get some blue and white checkered fabric for Dorothy. You could actually buy ribbon as it would probably be easier to find! I really think a little would complete her. I LOVE both the tin man and Dorothy! The hat on the tin man is GREAT! I can't wait to see the others! Good job!

Thanks for all the kind words, you guys. I can't say I'm really happy with any of them, but I expect them to be perfect and I'm just not that good or experienced! moretoys4you, I did buy ribbon but now can't figure out how to dress her in it in the position her body is in. I'll keep puzzling it out. I went today and got paint to start the scarecrow and work on the lion and then will go back to them. So thanks, the encouragement definately helps!

Your set is coming along great! I hope you do a Glenda! I haven't seen one yet and she would be so sparkly and precious. Her crown is so iconic.... like the slippers on Dorathy and the funnel - hat on the tin-man.. Glenda's crown and pink poofyness are classic! Can't wait to see them all done.

I think I may have solved my dorothy outfit issues: Add ruffle-butt panties. While it has some strange baby doll vibes, it is the answer to a micromini skirt on a sitting dog with a tail. Here she is with her unpainted panties and the beginning of her checkered skirt- And started on the scarecrow. I found the fringe to use for his hay and mixed some paint to match. He will be tricky because I plan on gluing the fringe and then covering that partly with apoxie to give the impression of clothing and the hay sticking out, but I need to paint the areas where the fringe will be glued before adding it. So this is color one, then I'll add the green top and brown bottoms and then glue fringe then add apoxie detailing and then paint again. We'll see how that goes. Here's the beginning- After i finish dorothy or toto I'll think about which one next and what mold to use. The glenda one is tricky, since I'm doing all dogs and would want to sew a dress for her. I also may do the wizard or the wicked witch, but it would be so tempting to have to do the flying monkeys and I'm doing all dog molds. I might also do a munchkin puppy, we'll see. The other issue is figuring out what I'm doing this for. Do I keep the whole set? They don't make a whole lot of sense separately, but if I listed them all as a set no one would bid or the whole lot would go so cheap it wouldn't be worth selling them. Not that i think they should be sooo priceless, but this has been a lot of time and will be a lot more and it's the money I spent on the pets and the paint and brushes and apoxie sculpt... Heh. Maybe I should just classify the whole thing as stress relief that I have to buy supplies for and call it a wash Anyway, let me know what you guys think! Celia

Great work, I love how it's all coming along. As for listing the whole set, that's probably the way I'd go. But you're right in fearing not getting what it's "worth". That's the uncertainty of eBay. So I'd probably do a Buy It Now for a price you are happy with, or set a reserve price of that same amount. I'm dreading my Super Mario Bros set will go for a low price. Hours are spent making sets. TOO many hours. But I think to myself, "I'd customize the pets even if I didn't put them on eBay." I can justify the time spent that way. Best of luck.

Dorothy is coming along GREAT! I like the ruffled panties...you are doing REALLY well with the clay! You will use the clay and brushes and such so much it is worth the investment. And on selling or keeping...I agree with setting a reserve, as one person may really be into the Wizard of Oz and be willing to pay well, but since there may only be one or two out there it could go for real cheap without one...you just never know. Better to be safe then sorry! Sometimes it is nice to list just to show them off.....if they don't sell don't go down in price, just keep them. Or if you really want to keep them then don't list at all! Up to you in the end.
I keep wanting to do a set of Franklin the Turtle, with Bear and owl, snail, fox, all of them. they would be for my son though....he is a HUGE Franklin fan!!
Have fun with the rest of them....they look WONDERFUL!!

So here is the latest- I finished Dorothy's ruffle butt panties and painted the top of her dress. Her dress will not be a literal recreation since I would be wretched at painting checkers, but the skirt will be the checkered ribbon. I've also done bows for her hair but am going to repaint her eyes a lighter color, maybe purple, that will go with the blue better. Toto is done other than accesories. I need to weave a basket out of construction paper (did anyone do that when little?) or find one to buy. I'm not thrilled with how he turned out, but I like the eyes. And the scarecrow. He's almost done, I have to paint patches on his shirt and retexture his pant patches and then make his hat out of felt. And find ribbon or string to use around his heck and waist. And add an extra touch that will be a surprise! And I am finally getting excited about the lion one, which I have not painted more since the last picture, but I figured out his accessories- I'm going to make the grass cape that he wears in emerald city, complete with flowers, out of felt. And sculpt a broken planter crown. Yay! Thanks you guys for being interested, it makes it so much easier to plug at it when I'm looking forward to posting pictures! Celia

Wow. Wonderful work. Dorothy's diaper sure is cute, I can't help but smile looking at the picture. I love Toto's eyes are VERY well done. I'm no good at eyes, I don't even paint mine, if I can avoid it. The Scarecrow looks so lovable, almost squishy. I know it's made of plastic, but you made it look cuddly. The Lion accessories ideas are perfect! May I suggest something? I know it'll add much more time to this project, but the Wizard and A Horse of A Different Color would be cool to add. I love this set, Celia. Have you decided what you're gonna do with the listing, yet? I still think it should be a full set. Go ahead and pay the 50 cents for the subtitle when listing. The more words, the more people see your listing. I did that with the Mario set and it got over 800 hits! Plus the word "Nintendo" was in there, but yours could be something like, Custom Littlest Pet Shop Classic Movie WIZARD OF OZ Lot Dorothy, Toto, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion
Something like that.

All I can say is WOW! The amount of detail and craftsmanship you have put into this is amazing. I can't believe you are a beginner. It looks like you have been doing this a long time. I always hated the bull dog, but you made him look so good as a scarecrow and all of the eyes you painted turned out fabulous. You have really taken your time to make sure each one has the right attention to detail and accessories. I can't wait to see the lion.

These look awesome. You are doing a fantastic job! If you decide to do Glenda, a Maltese mold might be perfect for her to go with your dog theme.
