I just used the cheap kind from Walmart... Apple Barrel or something like that(has "apple" in the name). It worked fine, even with my lack of painting skills.

I used acrylic paint (cheap tubes), but do note that it chips off very easily. I am still looking for a good matte sealer. The one I used on my custom Aussie left a sticky quality in places. If you or a child might handle a custom, you will need some type of sealer for it.

Use the acrylics. Than top it off with a sealer called Dull Cote by Testors.

I have been looking for dull cote... do I have to go to a hobby shop? I have looked at my craft stores and walmart etc. I ended up with a different matte spray sealer and left one of three my customs sticky.

You have to go to an arts and crafts store I believe. I got mine from Micheals here in Virginia.

i use the same paint as i do for my My Little Pony customizing - "Apple Barrel" "Folk Art" or other simular acrylic paints - they are between .50 and 1.00 Make sure NOT to get the "GLOSS" kind (usually on the top shelf)- it tends to stay sort of stickey - but the regualr ones are fantastic - and should be thinned out just a bit for smooth application and few brush-strokes ^_^ Good Luck!!
PS oh ya - and I use "Future" floorwax as a sealer - it seems to work well - and dosent get sticky ^_^ - but just a thin coat - applied with a q-tip....if you choose to seal it

I use acrylic paints on ponies that I got from Longs. They work really well, I can't wait to start using them on LPS, too! That is, once I get doubles!
