I was doing that too. don't know if you were planning on frankensteining, but i am; especially with the crap non lps items that come in lots *chops off head here; cuts tail there;* i wanna be like Miss E. ;D i bought paint and brushes, but that's it. i don't think i'm customizing any time soon, though. anyway, let me know if you are looking for anything specific/specific look while you're customizing. right now i have an ugly white husky with no eyes and tail. i'm thinkin' you might be interested in that. ;]

I have several! I have a blue parakeet bird from the jungle set (think it's from that set) that has a broken off piece of its foot, a yellow carriage pony with cut tail and hair and I think a few cats with missing fuzz on tails. I can get pics if you're interested.

oh wow! that sounds like a ton of fun!!! i think i have my own broken pieces that... you know what... just might need some customization... i've been meaning to buy silicone casting --- whatever one needs... to make some replicas of my favorite little kitty ... so i could dye/paint her all colors imaginable!!! haha... but... money IS an issue. my boyfriend does have a dremel... maybe i... or we (my boyfriend and i?) will join you in an exciting customization adventure!!!
maybe if there's several people it'll help me stay on task, eh? i'm so terrible with keeping to projects!

That sounds like fun! I want to customize too since I don't work all the time and could use a little hobby, but I'll have to get some more money first. Can't wait to see pics!

a lot of my friends into sculpture have gotten into the resin and casting their own figurines...i agree. way too expensive, and not sold in little quantities. my friend said he got some little bucket of that crap and it was seventy bucks. good luck! i'll be eager to hear how the casting goes. i've done plaster casts but not with silicone.
i can't wait to see the turtles!!!!!!!!
edit: btw, i was wondering why you were selling stuff so dern cheap. i do like a lot of the pet lots...i got kinda peeved 'cause i'd just put my zoo set up and then you had one for like four bucks. can't beat that! people, buy misty's zoo playcase!! it's cheep cheep. (my name on ebay is tikifeets btw just so i don't look so nosey, hehe -- i have a poof hair skunk on there now)

oh my, i F'ing love it! the turtle set i mean. it's so cool! and i never woulda guessed that you made the fairy wings from scratch. and the turtle eyes are perfect. looks even. musta had a really steady hand. how did you cut the cage down? it's cool how you turned it into a wave. and that palm tree is way better than the original. nice nice job, Misty. you should post this in your thread in the Customizing section. i think the other girls would love to see this. =]

^ i agree!
turtle's big pimpin' in his aquarium, there! hehehe!!! it was a really smart move to cut off the front half of the aquarium -- i know you probably had to, anyway, because the stuff wasn't too transparent...but it looks a lot better than the tanks. i love how it has that feel of a tourist-diorama for a photo (you know how they have the wave and the surfboard on top, and you can go stand on it and take a picture...).
