Oh good, glad you got the set safely! The nursery set that I was reffering to is really called the "Newborn Families - Puppy Mom & Dad" he he, sorry I need to start using the real names!

I got the hop n' hide bunnies today! And found parts to the Dog Nursery set at my local thrift store. I went to about a dozen thrift stores in my area and haven't found one little piece anyone know any other places than ebay to find lps? i've driven past this place about 25 minutes south of me, it looks like tons of junk and toys over an acre or so... my boyfriend calls it the "permanent garage sale..." i'm going to check it out this weekend, maybe i'll get lucky.

I very rarely find stuff that are vintage LPS, I think in my 8 years of being a thrifter I have found them maybe a dozen times. The best time was finding the Baby Kitties and Baby Puppies set with some accessories in a big bin. I had to fish them out and my daughter lost the kittens in about a week, we are still looking for them around the house. We'll probably find them if we move someday! Lol.

I've found the vintage ones way more often than the newer ones. I got one set (with the green playcase) about 2 years ago when i didn't collect them. I bought them because I remeber playing with them at school. Then over the summer I found the same case at a garage sale fo rlike $5 Good deal with lots of animals inside

i guess some place are better luck than others. i never went around to look in the thrift stores near me. in the past i used to go there to look around for some cool vintage furniture i wanted to fix up. thrift stores can be really fun sometime.
So did you have any luck this weekend at the garage sale location, mistygsxr600? =]

Nice! =] i didn't realize you won that one! =D this was a good lot. There were a lot of harder to find pieces in there! i might have preferred this one over the $200 one that i spent my money on. hahaha. Congrats! you must be so excited. it's going to be like an early Christmas when you open it! =D

yeah, i didn't realize how rare they were? i've seen them more than a couple of times on ebay and even in complete sets. always thought they were cute, but wanted to buy the sets first before the tea set. i didn't want to experience winning the tea set and wondering why the hell i got it. kind of like i bought that board game that i wish i didn't buy.... what the heck......
anyway, no recent purchases lately, but i am really looking forward to buying a bunch of loose pieces from mellowyellow. i'm so excited to complete sets that i need. i think it's more exciting than winning a set that i don't have. blah blah blah blah blah

on ebay, I found some weird mixed-up sets of LPS with other types of toys...good toys...I will post pictures of them. One is a tiny dog with a huge barbie-hair tail. The dog itself is about the size of the last section of my pinky finger. One is a bumblebee with a hole in the top of his head and it looks like something was stuck in it originally.
one set of lots i grabbed off buy it now for 1-2 dollars apiece had these kinds of toys mixed in. i was so happy to get the pieces because i had forgotten which ones i'd bought. also, they were dirt-cheap, which is always exciting. but THEN... i open the box, it smells like filth! blech! cigarettes maybe!
THEN... i open the bags up and take the LPS stuff out, and there is HAIR SHAVINGS ON THEM...not my little pony hair clippings, either. noooo sir. this was a man's chin hair or a lady's leg hair. or...some kind of hair. bruggedeh bruggedeh!!!! oh god it was terrible. i scrubbed and scrubbed. it is finally out. but jeez it was so bad. i promise i will never ship anyone pets with leghair shavings on them. or that smell like they've been living with goats. end of story.

Oh, God, weaselmouse, that sounds awful! Which seller was that from? I hope I don't run into anything that gross! *knocks on wood* I think the only gross thing I've gotten from ebay as of yet, was a vintage puppy in my pocket play set that had pieces of long woman hair laying inside of it. BLECH! Nothing to fuss about, but a little damp cloth wouldn't hurt before selling something.
My latest purchase was a few pieces from mellowyellow that I needed to complete sets and the tug n' play Beethoven I needed to complete my beethoven sets.
