Well, I promised pictures of me when I finally got a gi, and I'm a lady of my word. Even though...yuck! This white gi makes me look like the #$% #$%% Goodyear Blimp! It's horrible!!! Not like I don't feel fat enough, then to see me in this. Ick!! More incentive to lose weight, I guess. I took one of me must standing there facing the camera, but it looked insanely horrible, so that one is not being posted. But here's one of me in "karate stance." Then "fighting stance." (What a horrid look on my face. Ugh!) And this is the back of our gi top, where we have our Yoshukai Karate Alliance motto (Nin Tai=Patience + Strength = Perseverance.) Mrs. V (Carol) p.s. And for those experienced in karate, I realize my right thumb was sticking up too far, but it has a nasty papercut on it with a band-aid, and it makes it hard to bend right.

I was scared until I read this....... "And for those experienced in karate, I realize my right thumb was sticking up too far, but it has a nasty papercut on it with a band-aid, and it makes it hard to bend right."

But Mrs.V turned out to be a beautiful warrior instead! ;D I better run and return all my past due books...

LOL, Judy!! You'd be surprised how painful some of those paper cuts I get at the library are!! This one was with a manilla folder, not just a piece of paper. It wasn't so much the pain that messed up my thumb, it was the band-aid I put on it. It wouldn't allow bending as easily...that's my story...and I'm stickin' to it!! I will lull you into complacency with my whining about paper cuts...then...wham-o! Shuto strike to the neck, and you're down!! Watch out, baby!! ;D Carol

I can get down further with my stretches, etc. That's sooo cool!

Judy You better believe it. I get downright nasty when people don't return my books in a timely manner! I can be a beyotch. Anyone can be a little late...but to repeatedly ignore my notices...oh, that really irritates me. Shuto strike to the neck!!

And in closing tonight...as I should really be in bed...Sensei Hottie was in street clothes tonight. A T-shirt tucked into some sexy jeans. He was actually not there to teach tonight. He was there putting finishing touches on the dojo. They moved into this new building this summer, and they've done A LOT of work on it. And he's trying to get it all finished completely before the Open House on Saturday. He does construction/carpentry work, so he's good at that stuff. Anyway, he was there in working clothes, but he still came in and did some stuff with us. He looked soooo sexy in those jeans. I've always loved the look of guys in T-shirt, jeans, and barefooted. I don't know what it is about the bare feet and the jeans, but it just rings my bell. So I had trouble concentrating at certain times tonight. ~drool~ He has got about the sexiest feet I've ever seen on a man. He told us tonight that when he started karate about 5 years ago, he had gotten up to 250 lbs! He's now down to 170! I only hope it can help me lose weight. My brother-in-law was 250 when he started too, and he's at 225 now. And his is mostly muscle, plus he's tall. I would love to lose 40 lbs, but would be happy with 20. Well...maybe 30.
Later gaters!

I am SOOOO nervous right now. It's an hour and a half before our karate open house tonight. I know they told us not to worry about it, it's just going to be like any other class session, except there might be other people watching. Well, eep!! I don't like other people watching!! I don't even like other students watching. It's bad enough when there are parents sitting on the side during normal classes. Oh, I'm naseous.
I have some supper in the oven right now for hubby, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to eat. If I'm this nervous about an open house, how am I ever going to test?!!
There's one part of our 2nd kata (Zenshinkotai) that I get confused about. I can do the first 4 movements fine, but the next 2 throw me. And I have to do them slow by myself to get them. But when we are doing them as a group, I can't do them slow, I have to do them with everyone else. So I totally messed them up on Thursday night at class. And I think that's one thing I'm most worried about. Mr. S. (our black belt) told me to not even act like I mess up and no one will know. Well, I don't necessarily believe that, because they will see that I'm not doing what the others are. But it's only 2 moves, and they are over in 10 seconds, so I need to just STOP worrying about it. This is one time I shouldn't have stopped taking my meds.
Oh...did I post that? I stopped taking my anxiety meds because I'm sick of being a fat-@ss. And the meds made me gain the weight. So I'm hoping I lose it now. But my head has been feeling pretty yucky for the 2 weeks that I've been off of it. And I'm worrying more. Yay!
So, wish me luck and pray for me, or whatever you all do along that vein. I'll take prayer, positive energy, good vibes...whatever ya' got!
I'm afraid I might be too nervous to break a board tonight. Just the thought of it is making me want to throw up. I think it's defintely a good thing that hubby doesn't feel up to going. He would make me even more nervous...
I'll let you know how it goes!!
