I am trying very hard to be a completist, and I think I am up to date so far, except for a few hard to find exclusives. But it is truly getting to be overwhelming. As long as I can save up enough money, and have help from my mom, I'll keep going.
I don't keep the LPS pets that are the same but have different number. One pet gets to represent 2 numbers
I've never counted them, simply afraid to ;D, but pretty sure have all except for the Licensing Turtle.
Unfortunately they are not displayed, just stored. The very favorite pets of the moment get to be displayed on a couple of Target tins. Living in California pretty much prevents us from hanging much on the walls.

I totally understand about living in California. We used to live in the San Jose area and WOW the cost of living is outrageous!!

We have so many now that I don't know now when someone gets misplaced. I found one of my favorite calicos under my car seat the oehter day. I have no idea how long he was trapped there! We'll continue to get the ones we love by ebay or preorders but the only completist colllection we'll have going is Webkinz. And we're going to do the "hunt" in stores again. All the preorders took some of the fun out of it for me.

Mom to DD May 2004 and a DS July 2005. I quit counting at 600. I don't want to know anymore!
I would like to, but for me it's really dificult. Me and my daughter started her collection in dec, 2005 but I couldn't keep track of everything until 2007 when I discovered this forum. So we lost a lot of things because it didn't reach here. But after I joined here things became to get better and I found so precious help on the board. We have about 400 and I consider a lot since less than 1/4 of the pets reached our country.

I started too late to be a completist, but I was pretty close before the style change. At first, I planned not to be any at all in the new style, but that didn't last
I'd say I'm buying well over half of what comes out.

Wow, that is impressive!!! Nice job!
Very Impressive BIBI. Your very loved on here and I would also be glad to help you out anytime just let me know.
I never have been a completist and never will. I only buy what I like and really, really want. I've decreased my buying a lot...I just can't afford it. And I'm almost out of space too.

I agree! You can sometimes find old ones! I also love the excitement of finding that one that everyone else has that we just got in (terrible shipments poor unhappy, crying smiley) It is also cool running into other collectors who tells about recent finds at other places!

I've never collected them all, either. I wouldn't buy things just for the sake of having them. I only buy things I love and are partial to. Thankfully, not a ton of the new ones are pets I can't live without.
Mostly, I need the fawn, the puffin, and the (fruit) bat.
