At the library? That sounds cool. What was going on at the library to make you display them there, if you don't mind me asking? our library has a huge collections display case. locals sighn up to show off their collections in it. it was much fun to stand close by and listen to people talk about how amazing my collection was. little children would just go up to it and stare for like a long time. and a couple people offered to buy it off me, some offering over a thousand dollars.

Wow! you must have a really good collection! but $1000 is a really good offer. well, i guess depending on the sets you have, it might not be. especially since collecting could take awhile if you are really particular about sets on ebay. We'd really like to see what sets you have if you have time to take pictures. Some of us are still waiting to set our collection up, so we haven't taken pictures yet. =]

ill think about taking picks.
some of mine are in played with condition, for example, my arctic sled dog set, two of the dog's fabric tales are missing and the white one's eyes have faided off. most of the others are in pretty good contidion though considering they came from me and various other people who played with them as well. some of my others are from ebay and are still in very good condition. yah, it was nice to get the thousand dollar offer, but just looking at the prices some people glean off their sets on ebay, i would ask alot more. and, i dont plan on selling mine. in fact, i try to keep in mind that, even though i collect them, they were first meant to be toys and would prefer to keep them around for children, wheather be my own or others, to play with. wow, sorry, long post.

I sold my childhood collection on eBay in 2003 for $500 in one big lot. I don't regret it because we needed the money and it's fun to collect again now but I sure wont get that good of a price on the re-buy! I will post pictures of the old collection when I find them, they are on my old hard drive.

thanks I need to find a better place to display them, the wood is ugly i think i want to put like a sparkly fabric background or something and make it pretty, but the carousel is so big it doesn't fit on anything, the base probably the widest lps item there is, too wide for most little shelves =/ i am trying to make a sparkling pets display and a zoo display too... i'm thinking astroturf for the zoo

oh, i thought they were nice shelves. i wish i had had enough money to buy the carosaul set when it came out in stores. astroturf would be so cool for the zoo!

I was actually thinking about getting one of those acrylic shelves for the wall !!! i actually really liked that idea too. the one's that Olga had were really nice. the only thing for Misty and I is that we would like to put whole sets on the shelves and customize each section. i like the acrylic 'cause it'll keep most of the dust out with the cover, and also keep kids from touching the case. it's just basically a big teaser though. if i had to, i'd put a blanket over it when i know that there would be too many kids around. and..... oh yeah, the only problem is that the acrylic shelves are pretty costly. so ultimately what happens is that we just have to work with what we have. boo hoo. =[

i used to display mine on shelves, but after awhile, they didnt fit. now, they just sit in plastic boxes. i would have mine up in shelves in my room, but it is very small and all the shelves are taken up with my lotr obsession
